The last few weeks at T.S. Vanguard have been busy!

We have seen Cadets attended the Royal Marines Cadets - Alpha Company Promotion Board and pass! As a result MC's Joseph and Ieuan have been promoted to Lance Corporal!

We also saw some drill practice for the entire unit ahead of the Remembrance Events we have.

As well as all this, we also hosted a Unit MACT - with cadets partaking in Catering and Marine Engineering! Well done to those cadets that took part and achieved qualifications in their chosen specialisation!

We even had staff attend in support roles for the South West Area Sea Cadets Cadet Voice Weekend!

At the start of October, we also hosted the Mercia District Sea Cadets Basic Peer Educator course.

Finally, we had representatives from Walsall Sea Cadets attend Aldridge School last week to deliver some Practical Leadership Task training to their students.

BZ to those from T.S. Vanguard for all their hard work over the last few weeks.

👋 Farewell 👋

Last Night, T.S. Vanguard, said goodbye to PO (SCC) Meares, who leaves us to focus on his University Studies.

PO Meares joined us back in 2018 as a Junior Sea Cadet, staying with us through Covid, before aging out as an Able Cadet at the start of 2025, and remaning with us as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV)

During this time, he represented the unit at numerous events, courses & competitions, such as:

Offshore Voyages
Remembrance Day & Other Civic Events
Swimming, Drill and Waterbourne Comps
Midlands Boat Station Groundbreaking
Unit Camps

& much, much more

During his time with Walsall Sea Cadets, PO Meares gained a wide range of qualifications and awards, and represented both himself and the unit to a high level.

We wish PO Meares all the best for his studies and his future endeavours!

🎉 Happy Birthday! 🎉

The Ships Company of T.S. Vanguard would like to wish a Happy 18th Birthday to L/Cpl Julia who officially ages out as a cadet today!

On Thursday, we presented L/Cpl Julia with a commemorative frame, which marked some of her many achievements from her time with us as well as a card.

From being hesitant to go boating to now being our current RMCD Cadet with the most boating hours, she has developed herself immensely since joining and we are proud of her achievements!

Julia has been with us for over 4 and a half years and we are pleased to say that after a short break she is looking to continue her journey as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer

🎂 We would also like to say Well Done to Able Cadet Suffiyyah who baked a cake to mark the occasion!! 🎂
