🚣‍♂️ Unit Rowing Day 🚣‍♀️

A big thank you to Telford Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets for allowing us the use of their water yesterday for a day of rowing practice.

Cadets spent the day working towards various rowing qualifications and gaining experience afloat.

We would also like to thank those members from Telford unit who gave up their Friday, to facilitate this!

⛺️ Alpha Company Summer Camp 🏕

Last week, some of our Royal Marine Cadets & One of our Sea Cadets, went on Royal Marines Cadets - Alpha Company Summer Camp at Rollestone Camp for a week of fieldcraft and other RMC activities.

Some of our cadets even got to meet the CEO of the MSSC, Guy Holloway and other VIPs when they visited the Camp.

Last week, Members of Walsall Sea Cadets attended South West Area Sea Cadets Training Week held at H.M.S. Raleigh.

Staff from the unit gave up their time to provide support to the week in a variety of roles.

Some staff even managed to get out and explore some of the local area!

On Tuesday, we hosted our Monthly Ceremonial Divisions for August.

This was our first for a few months due to the heat!

Cadets were awarded a variety of qualifications, such as:

1 & 2 Year Good Conduct
Promotions
Junior Modules
CIS, Mountain Biking and Marine Engineering

As well as many more!

Over the weekend, Cadets & Staff from T.S. Vanguard, attended the Mercia District Sea Cadets Multi Activity Cadet Training (MACT) Weekend.

Cadets took part in a wide range of activities such as: Marine Engineering, Physical Training Mountain Biking & Communication & Information Skills (CIS)

A big well done to those cadets that achieved qualifications and took the first step into their respective pathways and a big thank you to the staff from the unit that supported the weekend by instructing.

On Saturday, Our Rowboat Handling Team represented Mercia District Sea Cadets at South West Area Sea Cadets Combined Regatta at Port Talbot Sailing Club.

With minimal practices as a complete team, and a 5 AM departure, we are proud to say that T.S. Vanguard came 4th out of 9 Districts in the area!

This is a great accomplishment for our cadets who pulled together and did both themselves and the unit proud.

Well done to all who attended!

Selected to be an ambassador based on the pride and commitment that he shows at the unit and in Mercia District Sea Cadets, we look forward to seeing what networking and showcasing opportunities he is able to achieve whilst attending events with the Mayor of Walsall, highlighting the quality of our town's young people.

On Sunday, Cadets & Staff from T.S. Vanguard attended Walsall's First Ever Armed Forces Day in Walsall Arboretum organised by Short Heath Lest We Forget & Our Walsall.

Representatives hosted a stall and attended the parade around the Arboretum, and even got time to experience the many stalls!

A great day was had by all those in attendance and those present did both themselves and the unit proud!

This also marked the first official duty of our very own Mayoral Cadet, LC Taylor

Well done to our three cadets who represented Mercia District Sea Cadets at yesterday's South West Area Sea Cadets Paddlesports Competition.

To get to the area Competition with minimal practice as a team is a great achievement! You should all be very proud.
