Love Walsall Libraries and Walsall Archives are holding a Local History Fair on Saturday 7th November, 11 am – 3 pm at Lichfield Street Hub.

This is a fascinating day celebrating the rich heritage, history and culture of Walsall and the Black Country. The fair will bring together local heritage and arts organisations, historians and family history experts, offering something for all ages.

📢 Exciting news! Walsall will receive £222,000 to improve residents' access to healthy, affordable food.

The funding, announced through the Government's Good Food Neighbourhoods programme, will help build on the work already taking place across the borough through Feeding Walsall's Future: The Food Plan 2025-2030.

Working together through the Walsall Food Partnership, organisations across Walsall are helping improve access to good food, support healthy eating and tackle food insecurity.

The borough is already home to a range of initiatives, including community shops, food-growing projects, healthy eating programmes in schools, and support for children and families. This investment provides an opportunity to strengthen that work and explore new ways to support residents.

Our Walsall is asking residents, community groups and local organisations for their views on proposed changes to the Council Tax Reduction Scheme for working-age residents.

Council Tax Reduction helps people on low incomes pay less Council Tax. We are reviewing the scheme to ensure it continues to provide effective support, remains fair, and reflects changes in household incomes and the benefits system.

No final decision has been made. We want to hear from as many residents and community organisations as possible before any recommendations are considered.

We would be grateful if you could:

🔸Encourage anyone who may be affected by the proposals to have their say.
