The Fitness Experts Harwell recently held a sponsored 24 hour fitness event to raise money for Style Acre and Oxford Animal Sanctuary. We popped in to see them and their wonderful costumes during the challenge! 🦄🦖💪

They have raised nearly £900 for us which is fantastic news! We want to say a big thank you to them, their members and everyone who joined in and supported the event. We really appreciate it 🙏🥳

Thank you Cllr Andrea Powell, we really appreciate your support.

This is the last week you can vote for Style Acre at Waitrose Wallingford as part of the Community Matters Green Token Scheme.

We could receive up to £1,500 for our Wallingford community hub. The funding would be used to buy recycled, environmentally friendly raised beds and kitchen equipment to support gardening and cooking sessions.

Voting closes at the end of June, so please vote if you’re in store this coming week. Thank you for your support!

Learning Disability Week this year has a theme of “Do you see me?" focusing on visibility, value, and challenging stereotypes. We put this into action every day by doing everything we can to support people to achieve their goals and to be seen and heard 💛

This week, we’ve been getting updates from our Ambassadors who are supported by Style Acre and help to promote our work in their communities.

Grace enjoys representing Style Acre and raising funds through her amazing running. Grace says ‘I like to talk about what we do to people who want to know about Style Acre. I raise money for the charity through my running events, I ran the London Marathon and the Oxford Half Marathon and am doing the half marathon again. I also ran in the Cholsey 10k recently. I enjoy my job at Green Acre, particularly weeding, planting bulbs and mowing. I also enjoy working in the kitchen at Frances Curtis Court and serving our customers. Style Acre supports me in the week with shopping, cleaning, cooking and going out which helps me feel positive. I like helping at Style Acre events too and helping other charities such as when we helped with litter picking after BunkFest’.

Thanks for being a great Ambassador for Style Acre Grace! 🤩

It’s Learning Disability Week with a theme of “Do you see me?" focusing on visibility, value, and challenging stereotypes. This week we’re catching up with our Ambassadors who are supported by Style Acre and contribute so much to the charity 💛

Dan is proud to be a Style Acre Ambassador and has helped out at all sorts of events over the years, championing the introduction of Dan’s Halloween Disco, now an annual event!

Dan says ‘I love being autistic, it’s very important to me. I love it when staff listen to me. I love working at Green Acre, the staff are brilliant. l love mowing and strimming, I’m not so keen on weeding but I still do it! I love my office job as I like working with the office team. I have started working at Frances Curtis Court serving food to the residents which I also enjoy, as I like meeting people. I want more people to support and understand people with learning disabilities’.

Thanks for being a great Ambassador for Style Acre Dan! 🤩

As it’s Learning Disability Week with a theme of “Do you see me?" focusing on visibility, value, and challenging stereotypes, we’re featuring our Ambassadors who are supported by Style Acre and who do great work helping to promote the charity in their local communities 💛

Today we hear from Rachel. Rachel enjoys her Ambassador role and has helped at many Style Acre fundraising events over the years, pictured here raising money by selling chilli at Truck Festival!

Rachel says ‘I like being an Ambassador, helping staff out and other people. I work at a bingo centre and help out at our Didcot hub, I chat to new people and show them around so they can see what we do. I work at Style Acre’s weekly Music and Dance and then go bowling in the afternoon. I like meeting new people and helping other charities. I’ve got lots of things to do!’

Thanks for being a great Ambassador for Style Acre Rachel! 🤩
