"There are physios… and then there are PHYSIOS!" 🙌

We always love hearing from parents about their experiences at Footsteps, and this heartfelt message from Terrie, Mum, says it all.

Learning new physio skills can feel daunting, but with expert guidance from Mark and Filip, this family has gained the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to continue their daughter’s progress at home. Videos, clear explanations, and a hands-on approach have made all the difference.

A huge thank you to our dedicated team for their passion and commitment—your impact goes beyond the sessions! 💙

“The last 2 weeks have been really empowering for my husband and I to help move our daughter onto the next step. Mark has been amazing straight from the get go, the ease and confidence he had dealing with her was clearly obvious which helped us as parents know she was in safe hands.

Our minds were full of doubt when we came home to do the physio ourselves (as these were new skills we needed to learn as well) however we were able to take videos and these have been vital in us executing the physio at home, both Filip and Mark explained so well where you needed to put your hands, what each move was doing, what initiation we need to wait for from our daughter so it’s an active exercise, where her hands and arms should be etc. Although we are not as good as you both the videos are a vital part of our learning and we are confident in time we will reach our weight-bearing goal with our daughter with continued practice.

So thank you Mark for taking your job seriously we have come across a lot of physio's and there are physio's and then there are PHYSIO'S. You have both taught our daughter, my husband and I so much already and this is just the beginning, I wanted you to know your pride in your role, knowledge and skills are appreciated so THANK YOU.”

💡 Every child’s journey is unique, and we’re here to guide you. Find out more about our free assessment and intensive therapy sessions on our website.

Today, Nick Knowles and the amazing DIY SOS camera team visited Footsteps Centre to film a special part of Rafi’s journey!

They spent time chatting with his dad, Dean, and capturing Rafi’s therapy, all while the team of tradespeople undertake a truly life-changing home transformation.

Rafi is an inspiration to us all, showing determination and resilience every step of the way, and a smile that melts your heart.

Now, thanks to DIY SOS, his home is being adapted to give him the space and independence he needs. We feel so privileged to be part of this incredible story.

A huge thank you to Nick, Matt and his crew, and everyone involved—we can’t wait to see the transformation unfold later this year! Stay tuned for more updates. 💙✨

Helping Little Feet Take Big Steps with DMI Therapy! 👣

At Footsteps we use various therapeutic approaches to meet child’s unique needs. Using innovative techniques like Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) helps children with neurological conditions to improve functional skills and abilities, and as a result, increase their participation in life.

🔹 What is DMI?
DMI is a very successful hands-on therapeutic method focuses to improve child’s gross motor skills, balance, range of motion, posture and gradual progression. Intensive DMI training helps children to reach developmental milestones such as sitting, standing or walking.

🌟 How Does It Help?

Through intensive and structured exercises, DMI improves:

✅ Gross motor skills – sitting, standing, walking
✅ Balance & posture – essential for everyday movements
✅ Range of motion – increasing flexibility & control
✅ Confidence & independence – empowering children to do more!

💙 Ideal for children with cerebral palsy, genetic syndromes, developmental delays, and other neurological conditions, DMI therapy helps unlock their full potential—one step at a time!
