Welcome! Wallingford Mill Brook holds great historical significance in Wallingford. Once it supplied water to the castle’s moats and Saxon embankments, fed the mills and breweries and provided a public water supply. Many Wallingfordians fondly recall childhood paddling, fishing and enjoying the brook. However, fast forward to 2026 and the story is quite different. The brook is now polluted, blocked and lifeless. For months (some of us years), a small group of volunteers has been tirelessly working to uncover the reasons behind its horrific state and we’re finally making progress! The reversal and culverting in the 1970s, the construction of the bypass in the 1990s and further work in the 2000s have all impacted the brook .Given the public interest in our project, we’ve created this group to keep you all updated on our progress and gain further support. Working with support from Wild about Wallingford ,Wallingford Town Council and Environment Agency and we hope to gain help from Thames Water. Follow us for updates and photos !
