This month, we caught up with Alex, Community Energy Adviser at Energy Projects Plus, to find out what he enjoys most about working with local communities.

Since joining the team, Alex has supported residents across Liverpool and the Wirral, delivering energy advice through home visits and community outreach. He has also worked closely with Cobalt Housing to establish regular community advice sessions, helping residents access the support they need to stay warm, save energy and reduce their bills.

When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Alex said:

“Speaking to local people about their issues really helps to open your eye into what is going on in our communities, it is deeply rewarding to offer energy advice and apply practical solutions to a wide variety of concerns and needs that community members have. It is empowering to know that even a quick conversation about something that was challenging for someone or offering longer term support makes a marked difference in their lives. Seeing the results and genuine thanks from clients really demonstrates how important our work is and makes me feel like a valued member of the community that contributes towards its happiness."
