THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS ❤️

💙 Our Volunteers – The Heart of D Hub 67 CIC 💙

Today, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible people who make D Hub 67 possible – our volunteers.

Every single evening, including weekends, our surplus food collection volunteers head out at 8.30pm. They give up their evenings, use their own fuel, lift and carry countless crates, and spend hours sorting through food to make sure everything is stored safely and correctly. Some nights, this can take up to two hours or more. They do it quietly, without recognition, simply because they care.

Then, before many people have even started their day, our in-house volunteers arrive. They open the hub, put the kettle on, prepare tables for food distribution, sort through donations, support community members, help in the community shop, make drinks, tidy and clean the building, and often spend hours working in our community garden. They do all of this freely, asking for nothing in return.

But what our volunteers give goes far beyond practical help.

Together we laugh. Sometimes we cry. We support one another through difficult times and celebrate each other's successes. We share ideas, friendship, kindness and understanding. We create a space where people feel welcome, valued and connected.

Every volunteer brings something unique. Every smile, every conversation, every hour given makes a difference. The strength of D Hub 67 isn't our building, our projects or our programmes – it's the people who give their time, energy and hearts to our community.

Without our volunteers, D Hub 67 simply could not exist.

To every single volunteer we thank you. Thank you for your compassion, your commitment, your hard work and your belief in what we do. You are invaluable. You are appreciated more than words can ever express.

What you bring to this community is one of the most important things in society today – love, support, hope, laughter, friendship and a sense of belonging.

You do it humbly, often without expecting recognition, but please know this:

You are seen.
You are valued.
You are loved.
And D Hub 67 would not be D Hub 67 without you. 💙

There is still time to apply for a place on the Pride in Place Seacombe board!

If you are thinking about applying, or would like to volunteer with some of the projects, or maybe have a great idea, why not pop in to Diversity Hub 67 Friday or Saturday this week and have a chat with us 🤷‍♂️.

We have some guests joining us on Friday, it's a great opportunity to chat with our councillors, meet the chairs from Birkenhead and Woodchurch, speak with Gareth from Wirral CVS and also lord luitenant Peter Oliver OBE will be coming along around 1.30pm to have a chat with our lovely community.

Thanks, see you soon ☺️

Join us this Friday and Saturday at D Hub 67 and tell us what matters most to you about Seacombe 💜💚

From parks and green spaces to safer streets, youth activities and community wellbeing — we want to hear your ideas, priorities and hopes for the future of our neighbourhood.

Be a voice to help shape positive change through Seacombe Pride in Place.

The last few weeks at D Hub 67 CIC have been full of community spirit, creativity, support and lots of fun! 💚

Our Left Over Lab has been busy turning free surplus food into delicious meals and snacks including burritos, bread and butter pudding, decorated cakes and much more. 🍰🌯

Out in the garden we’ve been planting, painting rocks and enjoying time together in the sunshine. 🌱🎨

We’ve also distributed free surplus food to hundreds of people, helping reduce food waste while providing healthy fruit, veg, bakery items and other tasty essentials to the community. 🍎🥦🥖

Our weekly job coaching drop-in sessions have been incredibly busy and are proving to be much needed, while Sam continues to offer a warm welcome each week as our Community Connector — here to chat, listen, support and help people feel connected within the community. 💬

We’re also excited to have launched new groups and services including:
✨ Thrive on Diversity – a relaxed wellbeing support group for the neurodiverse community
✨ Tamasikes Place – a welcoming drop-in session supporting refugees and asylum seekers

We’ve recently completed volunteer training and are looking forward to exciting new sessions with Adult Lifelong Learning, including Summer Taste & Bake! ☀️🍴

Our community shop continues to help families save money on essentials, and our café is keeping everyone well fed — with many saying we make the best poached eggs in town! 🍳😊

We are also really excited to be part of Pride in Place, helping local people have a voice in shaping positive change around Seacombe and the local area. We have two Pride in Place events taking place this coming Friday and Saturday from 1pm–3pm at D Hub 67 CIC. Why not pop down, have a chat with us and find out how you can get involved. 💚

All in all, it’s been an amazing few weeks together. If you haven’t visited us yet, why not pop in for a chat and see what we’re all about? Everyone is welcome at D Hub 67 CIC 💚
