🏥💜 MY Hospitals Charity is proud to have funded this fantastic initiative at Pinderfields Emergency Department, helping make the patient experience more accessible, inclusive and supportive for everyone.
We’re delighted to support projects that make a real difference to patients and help ensure everyone can access the care they need in a way that works for them.
A big thank you to everyone involved in making this pilot possible!💜🏥

🏥 If you are attending our Emergency Department (ED) and are deaf, hard of hearing, neurodivergent, or find it difficult to hear your name being called, you can now request a pager from the reception team in Pinderfields Emergency Department.
The pager will discreetly alert you when it is time for triage or treatment, helping to ensure you don't miss being called while you wait.
You can ask for a pager when you arrive at the Emergency Department reception and return it before you leave. If you are admitted, please hand your pager to the member of staff caring for you.
This pilot forms part of our commitment to making our services more accessible and inclusive for everyone, with Pinderfields being chosen as the first site for this pilot due to the high number of patients who use the department and following feedback from our local communities.
If the pilot is successful, we hope to introduce the pager service at Dewsbury and District Hospital Emergency Department and Pontefract Urgent Treatment Centre in the future. 🩵💚
Thank you to MY Hospitals Charity for making this possible.
