Congratulations to seven amazing local community organisations that have been awarded £9,300 in the latest round of Healthy & Sustainable Communities Grants.

This funding through the Community Investment Gateway is empowering local groups to improve physical and mental health, tackle isolation, and create lasting benefits for residents in Knottingley and Ferrybridge.

The successful organisations are:

Grow Wakefield: Running winter-specific indoor nature crafting sessions to combat isolation in Knottingley.

Turning Minds Around: Providing one-to-one counselling, wellbeing coaching, and addiction support.

Home-Start Wakefield & District: Keeping their doors open for local families, offering a lifeline of support and connection.

Ferrybridge Bowling Club: Purchasing accessible equipment like lighter bowls and mechanical arms so more seniors can stay active.

Enabling Youth And Motorcross CIC: Funding healthy refreshments and new fitness gear for open-access youth sessions.

Knottingley Canoe Club: Expanding affordable outdoor physical activities and local equipment storage in the town.

Warwick Community Group: Introducing new craft activities and chair exercises to boost wellbeing and social connection.

The funding from Wakefield Council was channelled through the Community Investment Gateway and managed by Nova Wakefield District.

Are you a local charity, CIC, or community group working in Wakefield?

You could secure funding to support trusted vaccine champions to improve health and vaccine awareness.

As part of the West Yorkshire Vaccine Champions programme (funded by the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board), new grants are now available through the Community Investment Gateway, managed with support and training from Nova Wakefield District.

What is the grant for?
The grants are aimed at VCSE organisations to recruit and manage Vaccine Champions, local people who know their communities, share trusted info, answer questions, and connect residents with vital services.

Over £150k Open Access Youth Provision Grants has been awarded to youth organisations across the Wakefield District by Wakefield Council through the Community Investment Gateway.

Organisations to benefit include: Rycroft Leisure, Featherstone Rovers Foundation, Frontside, The Youth Association, Castleford Tigers Foundation, St George's Community Centre, The Well Project Normanton, Enabling Youth And Motorcross CIC

Congratulations to our members! 15 community organisations were successful in receiving funding for their run nature-based projects across Wakefield district 🌊

Being outdoors can have such a big impact on how we feel, both mentally and physically. So when we opened the latest round of Live Well Wakefield Small Grants, we offered funding for outdoor activities to boost what was available in the area.

Helen Betts, Grants and Gateway Manager at Nova, said “we’re excited to be supporting such a range of fantastic activities, and being able to fund projects for two years means continuity both for residents and our brilliant delivery organisations.”

Funding alert! New grants are open for charities, community groups and social enterprises in Wakefield District 👋

This morning, we've launched another opportunity available through the Community Investment Gateway...

🟣 Crisis and Resilience Fund: Community Coordination Grants 🟣

Community Coordination is about helping residents to connect with crisis and resilience services and activity, filling gaps and making sure support reaches those who need it most. This means bringing people, groups and services together so that residents are better supported during a financial crisis and stronger in the longer term.

The grants will support this by funding staffing costs for new or existing staff, increasing organisation's capacity to provide:

- Community coordination role
- Partnership and referral pathways
- Outreach and engagement
- Information sharing and networking

There is an additional £1,000 available to support the delivery of Welcome/Warm Space provision during winter months ☕

We are now accepting applications for our latest funding opportunity: Healthy and Sustainable Communities Grants.

Grants are available for VCSE organisations working in Knottingley and Ferrybridge to fund projects that improve physical or mental health for residents of all ages.

New funding opportunity launched through the Gateway!

The funding from Wakefield Council is for VCSE organisations to deliver open access youth work for young people 10 to 17 years of age (up to 25 for young people with SEND).

Grants are for delivery of open access youth provision, including:
💜Open access youth clubs (centre‑based or community‑based)
💜Detached and outreach youth work linked to open access provision
💜Evening and weekend provision
💜Youth voice and co‑production embedded within delivery
💜SEND‑inclusive open access delivery
💜Provision aligned to the NYA Youth Work Curriculum
💜In areas most in need

Closing date for applications: Monday 29 June, 12pm

We have just launched our next funding opportunity through the Gateway - Happy Healthy Holidays 😍

We're now accepting applications from VCSE organisations working in Wakefield District. You'll offer free nutritious meals and enriching activities during school holidays for children and young people (Reception to Year 11) receiving income-based free school meals.
