đź’š Give hope. Build welcome đź’š

This Refugee Week, we’re celebrating the strength, courage and resilience of people seeking sanctuary here in Wakefield.

At Wakefield District City of Sanctuary, we see every day how small acts of kindness can make a big difference, helping people rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

If you’re able to, please consider making a donation. Your support helps us provide essential items, practical support, and a warm welcome to those who need it most.

Regular donations, no matter the size, help us plan ahead and secure our future so we can continue supporting people long-term.

Please visit the link in the comments. If you are unable to donate, please share this post to encourage others to support us.

Every pound makes a difference. Every act of care matters. Together, we can continue to build a kinder, more welcoming community.

Donate today and stand in solidarity with people seeking sanctuary đź’š

Volunteers needed. You can make a real difference.

Our clothing bank helps many people every week. We rely on a wonderful team of people to sort and pack clothes for sanctuary seekers who really need our help.

We need a cheerful, good-natured person to take a lead in our clothing store on Wednesdays and/or Fridays.

Organisational and management skills are key to this role as it involves sorting donations, making judgements, organising donated goods, as well as overseeing and encouraging a small team of sanctuary seekers.

A commitment to the aims of WDCoS and a current DBS, or willingness to apply for one, are essential.

If leading isn't something you're interested in but you still want to help out, please do still get in touch. Any help is always appreciated.

Please send a message on here or email [email protected] if you are interested or have any questions.

Volunteering at WDCoS is wonderful. Please consider helping. If you can't at this time, please share this post to help us spread the word.

Thank you,
The WDCoS Team đź’š
