The Community Garden was created and is managed by Eastmoor Community Garden Association, a small group of like minded local people who volunteer time to raise funds, plan activities, run events and develop the garden space. An ampitheatre, sensory garden, barbecue area, clay oven, outdoor classroom, fruit orchard, greenhouse and meeting space have all been created within the garden since the grou

p came together and more ideas are on the way. We meet to make plans every six weeks and in between there are volunteer opportunities for anyone wanting to offer help – from fundraising to lawn mowing!! We’d love to hear from you or follow us on Facebook to find out more.

Grow Wakefield ran the last of their 6 weekly "Forest Explorers" sessions for families electively home educating their children this week and we've loved welcoming them to the garden. Around 20 families with children with SEND needs have enjoyed multi sensory Forest School activities and the opportunity to meet with other like-minded families.

Unfortunately we recently had to take down the gardens old gazebo as the posts were rotting but this week, with the addition of 2 large pallets, we used parts of the gazebo to make two large plant display stands for the garden. A great example of upcycling at its best!!! 🙂
