Our cancer support group has now been running for almost 4 years, and this little group is so incredibly close to my heart. ❤️
I started the group during my own cancer journey. I knew first hand how important it was to have people around you who understand — people you can talk to, laugh with, cry with, or simply sit and have a cuppa alongside.
I remember thinking that I needed to create something like this locally, so that other women going through cancer didn’t have to feel alone.
And almost 4 years later, here we are. 🥹❤️
One thing I’ve learnt along the way is that cancer doesn’t necessarily stop affecting you when treatment ends. Even when the appointments and treatment are over, you may still want someone to talk to who understands what you’ve been through - someone outside of your family and friends.
That’s what our group is about ❤️🎗️
It’s a safe, friendly and relaxed space where you can come along, have a cuppa, chat, make friends and take part in different creative activities. You don’t need to be crafty, and you don’t have to talk about cancer if you don’t want to.
You can simply come as you are. ❤️
We meet Tuesdays, 6pm–7:30pm in Outwood, and it’s completely free to attend.
