🌱 Stories of the soil 🌱
This evening, two of our members attended a lovely evening at Braddock church hosted by Plymouth University, celebrating their ‘returning the stories of the soil’ project.

It was great to see where the research from our club night back in June had gone. It was a privilege to be asked to be involved in this project, and to then be presented with a scroll showing our input in illustration form.

🌾 NFYFC WEEK 🌾
This week is NFYFC week! To celebrate, we joined in with the annual scarecrow competition, with this years theme being belonging.

To showcase belonging, we thought we would base our scarecrows on how Wadebridge YFC belongs within the community. The scarecrows show our annual dung run and Christmas tree collection! 💩🎄

Everyone had a great time creating the scarecrows and everything to go with them, and it was a great teamwork exercise! You can find our scarecrows opposite Halfway House!

📝 AGM 📝
Yesterday evening was Wadebridge YFCs annual AGM, held at Wadebridge Football Club. It was a great evening where the 2025-2026 club year was discussed, money was given to charities, and new club officers were elected.

It was amazing to be able to donate a sum of £1250 to each of our charities, which this year have been SSAFA (the soldiers, sailors and airmen’s families association), and the Phoenix Stroke Unit. A huge thankyou and well done must go to all members, advisory, and supporters for helping us to raise this amazing amount of money this year!

Thankyou to the past years officers for a great year, and congratulations to the new officers for the year to come! New club roles to follow…

🌾 Harvest festival 🌾
This week, we had 2 harvest festivals!

Firstly, Thursday was the club harvest festival. It was a lovely evening at St Breoke Church followed by a pasty supper with delicious desserts!

Yesterday evening was also the Cornwall YFC harvest festival, where George carried the club banner, Hannah presented the gift of timber, and Holly presented the shoe box donation for Liskeard and Looe foodbank. We also then attended the harvest supper at Eliot Hall where there was a delicious spread of food!

We hope to see you at our new members evening!

This weeks club night was a visit to Walter Bailey in Par! It was a great evening where members got to hear about the history of the business, and the branches it covers including building supplies and agriculture, as well as having the retail shop alongside! Thankyou so much to David and the team for welcoming us, and ending the evening with a pint at the Par inn followed by hot dogs and burgers!
