Look at the difference a week makes.

Last weekend, Bournemouth’s beaches and seafront were packed with people enjoying the hot sunshine and bank holiday atmosphere. Fast forward just one week and the weather has completely changed, pouring rain, grey skies, and deserted streets.

It just goes to show how quickly things can change on the south coast. One week we’re helping visitors enjoy the sunshine, the next we’re patrolling almost empty seafronts in the rain.

Whatever the weather, our volunteers remain out and about, providing a visible presence, supporting the community, and helping keep Bournemouth safe.

Rain or shine, Safeguard Community Support is here for the community.

Our Rebranding is in Full Swing!

Following our recent name change from Safeguard Force to Safeguard Community Support, our rebrand is now well underway.

We’re pleased to say that our partners at Adwear Ltd have our new uniforms on the machines and production has begun.

As a completely voluntary organisation, every uniform is funded through the generosity of our supporters and local community.

If you would like to help with a small donation towards the cost of our new uniforms, we would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps ensure our volunteers are easily identifiable while out supporting the community.

Your support helps us continue our mission of keeping our communities safer, supporting vulnerable people, and providing a visible reassurance presence across our towns.

Our volunteers are out again tonight in the pouring rain, but as always, still smiling!

No matter the weather, our dedicated team continues to patrol the streets, providing a visible presence, offering reassurance, and helping keep our community safe.

Whilst most people were heading indoors to stay dry, our volunteers were out there giving up their time for others. Their commitment, professionalism, and community spirit never cease to amaze us.

A huge thank you to every volunteer who braved the conditions tonight. You are a credit to Safeguard Community Support and the communities we serve.

SAFEGUARD COMMUNITY SUPPORT

As part of our recent rebranding from Safeguard Force to Safeguard Community Support, we have embraced a name that better reflects our commitment to supporting the whole community while continuing the work you know us for.

The name may have changed, but our mission remains the same.

As a completely voluntary organisation, we rely on donations and sponsorship to help fund:

Volunteer uniforms & equipment
First aid & welfare supplies
Volunteer training
Community projects & events
Public safety campaigns

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us continue making a difference across our communities.

We are also excited to announce that our new website is currently under construction and will be launching soon.

This afternoon we were invited to the 15-year anniversary celebrations at Funki Griller 🎉

If you haven’t been already, get yourself down there and give them a try. The steak is absolutely outstanding and many would say it’s the best in Bournemouth. A fantastic atmosphere, great staff and a real local success story.

We’re also pleased to announce that Funki Griller is now officially a VIGIL Gold Safe Place 🛡️💛

This means they are part of a growing network of businesses committed to helping keep our community safer by providing support to anyone who may feel vulnerable, unsafe, or in need of assistance.

On the right day in Bournemouth, you could be anywhere in the world.

After the bank holiday mayhem, Bournemouth’s beaches have settled back into the tranquil seaside paradise we all know and love.

Golden sands, calm waters, clear blue skies and plenty of space to relax, it’s a reminder of why millions of people visit our beautiful coastline every year.

Whether you’re taking a morning stroll, enjoying a swim, or simply sitting back and soaking up the views, days like this showcase Bournemouth at its very best.

While enjoying the sunshine, remember to stay safe. Keep an eye on children, swim between the lifeguard flags where provided, look out for changing sea conditions, and look after one another. A great day at the beach is one where everyone gets home safely.

Let’s all do our part to keep Bournemouth beautiful by taking our litter home, respecting others, and helping to preserve this incredible place for future generations.

Bournemouth back in the day…

Before the huge crowds, electric scooters and mobile phones in every hand, Bournemouth had a different kind of charm. The Square was a place where people slowed down, stopped to chat, and truly enjoyed the seaside atmosphere.

From family shopping trips and summer holidays, to meeting friends by the gardens or heading down to the pier, these streets hold so many memories for generations of local people.

Back then, community spirit was strong, people looked out for one another, and it was a time when groups like Safeguard Community Support simply weren’t needed in the way they are today.

It’s amazing how much has changed over the years yet the heart of Bournemouth still remains the same.
