Its almost time for Santaโs Sleigh to get started for another year, and we canโt wait for Father Christmas to arrive to join us tomorrow as we kick off in Fordingbridge & Alderholt! We always get interested people asking questions, so we thought weโd try to share answers to the big ones!โฃ

Given that all of our volunteers have day jobs, we will normally set off on the route from around 6pm, and aim to be finished by around 8pm to ensure that you don't have to keep little ones up too late to see Santa. Its always difficult to be able to be accurate about when we'll be coming down a given road, but we always share a Live Tracker link on our Facebook & Instagram pages when we set off, so you'll be able to see when we're near (And you'll hear us coming too!)โฃ

Santaโs Sleigh is our opportunity to es**rt Father Christmas around the towns & villages in our area, spreading some festive joy in the lead-up to Christmas while also raising money for some incredible local charities & collecting much needed donations of supplies for local FoodBanks.โฃ

In the lead-up to Sleigh Season, we ask the general public to nominate a local cause that they would like to us to support on a given night. This year we were inundated with some amazing nominations, and after a lot of discussion & research, weโve selected the following causes to support with Santaโs Sleigh this year - Making Memories Matter, Elsie's Rose, SISA St Ives Primary School Dorset, Poppys Pals Rescue , Big Bike Bash & Second Chance Community Foodbank - Verwood. For the most part, weโre limited by Father Christmasโ availability, and design our routes to try to bring him past as many houses as we possibly can, while trying to make sure that we finish each route by around 8pm to make sure that as many children as possible get to see Santa & his Sleigh. Weโre also all volunteers, with many of us leaving our own families at home while we disappear off for 6 evenings in December to es**rt Father Christmas, so unfortunately we canโt get everywhere. When designing our routes we also try to ensure that even if we donโt go past your house, you can still take a short walk to join the crowds on the route to share even more Christmas Spirit!โฃ

Weโve already published a rough shopping list of the items that our FoodBank partners are most in need of, but they would of course welcome any donations that you can spare. We work with 2 local FoodBanks over the festive period - Hope for Food & Ringwood & District FoodBankโฃ

Ringwood Round Table is a community group & registered charity made up local guys aged between 18 & 45 who want to make a difference in our local community. We re-formed in 2019 with the express aim of doing more & making things better, and what could do that more than es**rting Santa Claus around to see any many people as possible! We don't just do that though - We organise local events such as The British Pedal Car Grand Prix, run the charity bar at Ringwood Grand Fireworks, and also get out & do other things such as Escape Rooms, Clay Pigeon Shooting & embarrassing ourselves at New Forest Water Park.
