There are still tickets available for ‘Captain Scott and Race for the South Pole’ presentation on Thursday 11th December 2025 at 7.00pm

There will be a fully stocked bar with 'bitter on tap', a special edition bottle of Shackleton whisky up as a raffle prize and an informative and entertaining presentation about one of Great Britain's most famous explorers.

Tickets, priced at £5 per person, can be purchased via the Marchington Village Hall website, go to the 'What's On' tab, or contact Rodney Paul directly.

We held a Quiz on Saturday 15th November in the Village Hall, it was a sell-out. We had 16 teams competing for the six prizes on offer, including a 'Special Prize' for the team that didn't do quite so well.

After six rounds of questions and a picture round, would you believe it, we had a draw for first place. A sudden death 'quick fire' round produced an overall winning team.

In addition to the Quiz, we also played 'Stand-up Bingo' with the winning ticket pocketing a cash prize. We then played our version of 'Get your cards right' which produced two winners, each taking home a tidy sum!
