....Our club is famous for having a warm and friendly ambiance, and we are always pleased to welcome visitors and new members. We are 25 men and 8 women members from all walks of life who have come together to help improve the lives of many by raising funds to support local and International charities, and by initiating opportunities for young people. We have a reputation for good fellowship and g

ood food....any visitor is assured of a warm welcome. Our Fellowship evenings are on a Tuesday, meeting in Upminster at the Golf Club in Hall Lane at 7.15 for 7.30pm sit down. We enjoy a 2-course meal, alternating between starter/main meal and main meal/dessert. Most evenings we invite speakers to inform and entertain us on a wide variety of subjects, including the charities and organisations we support to better enhance our understanding of what is required. When we get down to business we have a lively debate with everyone having their say! We always end up having a good laugh about most things. Frequent trips, days out and sports events are organised to promote fellowship and fun in our club. Please feel free to browse our website to look at our recent and forthcoming meetings and events to see what we get involved in, and get a feel for what we are about.

Exciting developments at Havering Rotary club! Because we know that our area is served by several Rotary clubs all having an amazing positive impact on our local community (and afar!), we have decided to join forces with Hornchurch and Upminster Rotary club in order to be able to concentrate our efforts for the greater good. Our new name will be Havering Phoenix Rotary club, and the name of this page will be changed accordingly from the inaugural date of the new club in July.

What a wonderful coffee morning we had at Rotarian Kamal’s house on Sunday 26th April. The sun was shining, tea and coffee were flowing and the cakes were beckoning and abundant! A lovely morning of friendship and fellowship between our club, Hornchurch and Upminster club and the local community raising about £600 for our charities.

Havering Rotary club had a very enjoyable evening last night when they welcomed 1240 District governor Mark Williamson to the meeting and where president Suewilson inducted Phil Edwards into our club. Phil had previously been a member and we were delighted to have him rejoin. Mark then awarded past president Rupi with a badge to commend her support for end polio now. After a delicious meal at Romford Golf Club, we enjoyed a talk by professional speaker Danielle Barnett who entertained us with the life story of Judy Garland. A good evening was hit by all.

Havering Rotary Club has now completed the first round of its primary school quiz. This has been taking place since January and Rotarians Sheila Barnett and Christine Casey have enjoyed delivering the questions and answers! The semi-final will soon be taking place between the six highest scoring schools, and the children (and teachers!) are all excited about this.
It is a wonderful opportunity for us to spread awareness of Rotary and the good work that we do, because most of the children- and, notably, adults - that we encounter, have no clue about it!!

Gidea Park Primary School, Havering, kindly placed this plaque alongside the crocuses, which the children recently planted in their new sensory garden, to commemorate world polio day and spread the word of Rotary.

What a lovely Christmas party we had last night (10th December) together with Romford and Hornchurch and Upminster Rotary clubs. We all enjoyed a delicious dinner, sang songs with our guest speaker Danielle Barnett and were proud to award several Paul Harris awards. ADG Mark Chambers handed them to Eddie Edison ( from Hornhurch and Upminster club), Sue Adlington, David Anderson, Mark Dampster, Phil Edwards and our very own Santa Les Dungate -
deserving people who, without whom, our club could not do the good work that it does.
Thanks to our president Sue Wilson, ably assisted by our secretary Rupi Grewal for organising such an enjoyable evening.
