MugStock Bringing people together through music and merriment since 2015

19/03/2026

Current affairs getting you down? For instant mirth try singing the chorus of Elton John's Rocket Man in a Glaswegian accent 🚀

In other news our recent fundraiser Shake the Social #1 raised over £600 - very welcome in light of the £1,110 MugShack leccie bill that just came in. 🤯 Thanks to Condorrat Social Club, Midnight Drive, Woodwife, The Ox, TRASH Music Projects all the volunteers and everyone who came down. Should we do it again?

Alert! At 6:45pm today tickets for tomorrow's Shake The Social go up from £4/£5 to £8/£10. As it's a fundraiser we warmly encourage you to pay the higher price. Meanwhile a kind supporter who can't make it has paid for us to offer 2 ticket free to someone who is too skint to otherwise attend. If that's genuinely you, comment and let us know if you'd like 1 or both. Cheers!

Running Order for Shake The Social, Fri 6th March at Condorrat Social Club:

18:45: Doors
19:00 - 20:00: Melatonin (Rock covers from the next generation of local talent)
20:15 - 20:55: The Ox (Bombastic Blues from Glasgow)
21:05 - 21:45: Woodwife (Folky, Proggy, Siren Voiced, Huge Sounding Glasgow Band)
22:00 - 22:40: Midnight Drive (Rock Covers from Cumbernauld's Premiere Party Band)

It's shaping up to be a good one. Glasgow folks, this is on the bus route, and the bar prices make it a cheaper night out, even if you get a taxi.

OK, here's the deal... For the time being we're not allowed to run gigs in The MugShack, even daytime, alcohol free events. The venue continues to host free workshops run by Cumbernauld Alternative Network and TRASH Music Projects each Wednesday and Friday. But at its core MugStock is about bringing people together for music and merriment, so we're going to put gigs on in other places.

Shake the Social features 2 local rock covers bands, 2 accomplished original acts from Glasgow and one of the biggest names in Scottish hip hop. With music from 7 - midnight this will be an event that live music lovers won't want to miss. Come along and enjoy:

Midnight Drive - Cumbernauld’s premiere party band, back at the Social after their memorable new year show

Woodwife - Folky, Proggy, Rocky 3 piece with a massive sound completed with powerful siren like vocals

CCTV - Rap duo from Govan. As well as releasing a string of modern bangers Jay Lee and Jam have also created a new musical community around their brand “Scheme Hing”

The Ox - raucous, expressive and powerful blues delivered with impeccable musicianship and infectious energy

Melatonin. The MugShack’s resident youth band formed at@TRASH Music Projects, playing a selection of timeless and modern rock classics with conviction and constantly developing musicianship. They’ll be on first and so deserve a great audience, so come down for doors at 6:45pm and support the next generation of musical talent.

Tickets £5 in advance / £10 on the door (£4 / £8 for members of the MugStock family, or Condorrat Social Club). Link in the comments. Do come!
