🔥 120 years of adventure… and a new chapter begins!
This weekend, Tryfan Explorer Scout Unit held its very first camp at Gladstone Scout Centre in Hawarden. The Explorers headed out on expedition, before gathering around the campfire for a special moment: investing 11 new Explorers into the movement. 🌙🔥
And it got us thinking…
Next year marks 120 years since Robert Baden-Powell’s experimental camp on Brownsea Island in 1907 — the small adventure that helped launch the worldwide Scouting movement.
From that first camp on an island to a new generation of Explorers setting off on expedition in North Wales, the heart of Scouting remains the same: adventure, friendship, learning new skills and memories that last a lifetime.
120 years on, the campfires are still burning, the adventures are still beginning, and there are plenty more stories still to be written. 💚⚜️
Here’s to Tryfan Explorers and the next 120 years of adventure!
🔥 120 mlynedd o antur… ac mae pennod newydd yn dechrau!
Y penwythnos hwn, cynhaliodd Tryfan Explorer Scouts ei gwersyll cyntaf erioed yng Nghanolfan Sgowtiaid Gladstone yn Penarlâg. Aeth y Explorers allan ar alldaith, cyn ymgynnull o amgylch y tân gwersyll am foment arbennig: derbyniwyd 11 o aelodau newydd i’r mudiad drwy seremoni addunedu. 🌙🔥
Ac fe wnaeth hynny wneud i ni feddwl…
Y flwyddyn nesaf bydd 120 mlynedd ers gwersyll arbrofol Robert Baden-Powell ar Ynys Brownsea yn 1907 — yr antur fach a helpodd i lansio’r mudiad Scouts byd-eang.
O’r gwersyll cyntaf hwnnw ar ynys i genhedlaeth newydd o Fforwyr yn cychwyn ar alldaith yng Ngogledd Cymru, mae calon Scouts yn parhau’r un fath: antur, cyfeillgarwch, dysgu sgiliau newydd a chreu atgofion sy’n para oes.
120 mlynedd yn ddiweddarach, mae’r tanau gwersyll yn dal i losgi, mae’r anturiaethau’n dal i ddechrau, ac mae digon o straeon eraill eto i’w hadrodd. 💚⚜️
Dyma godi llwnc i Tryfan ac i’r 120 mlynedd nesaf o antur!
