🍂🧡 SKELTON YFC SEPTEMBER ROUND-UP 🧡🍂

What a busy start to the new YFC year it’s been for Skelton! From competitions and club meetings to welcoming lots of new faces, September has certainly kept us busy – and it’s only the beginning! 🖤🧡

🏆 COMPETITIONS

We’ve had a brilliant start to the winter competitions, with lots of members getting involved and representing Skelton!

🧠 We entered 3 Junior and 3 Senior teams into the Quiz, which was great to see!

🏅 Grace, Ella and Seth took part in Junior Member of the Year, with Grace and Ella coming 3rd and Seth finishing 4th – a fantastic achievement from all three! 👏

🎤 We also had a team compete in the Northern District Junior Public Speaking round, getting up and giving it a go and doing the club proud!

🎱 Our secretary Ellie has also been busy organising the Northern District Pool League for the winter.

💐 A huge well done to Katie Foster, who competed at Nationals in Flower Arranging and finished an incredible 6th overall! 🌸🏆

🌻 SEPTEMBER MEETINGS

We kicked off the year with a joint meeting with Caldbeck YFC at Wild Acres for flower picking 🌸, followed by our Members’ Night, where it was great to see everyone back and welcome lots of new faces! 👋🧡

🥧 We then headed to The Globe for a Pie & Pub Quiz Night – plenty of food, laughs and friendly competition!

🐄 We finished the month with an interesting tour around the Veterinary Investigation Centre, giving members a chance to see behind the scenes and learn more about the work that goes on there.

📋 CLUB OFFICER DAY

Our Field Day Secretary Lucy Wilson also attended the Cumbria Young Farmers Club Officer Day 🧡 A great opportunity to meet other club officers and share ideas!

🎃 WHAT’S NEXT?

We’re already looking forward to October, starting with pumpkin picking at Eden Yard Farm Shop on 13th October! 🎃🍂

There’s plenty more meetings, competitions and events coming up, so keep an eye on our page to see what Skelton YFC gets up to next!

A brilliant first month back – bring on the rest of the YFC year! 🧡🖤
