Would you know what to do if your power or water suddenly went off? Being prepared can make all the difference.

The Kent and Medway Resilience Forum have created a booklet full of practical advice to help you stay ready for situations just like this:

Today, on International Women’s Day, we recognise the many women who work quietly and compassionately across the funeral and bereavement sector.

From funeral directors and celebrants to bereavement support workers and volunteers, their care, strength and empathy help families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments.

Thank you for the dignity you bring to your work, the comfort you offer to others, and the difference you make every day. 🌷

Even though the past is out of reach, cherished memories remain a source of light and emotional strength, helping us feel better in the present.

We hope that MuchLoved tribute pages can support you with that; through the sharing of stories, thoughts and photographs of your loved ones.

Could you, or someone you know, benefit from using care technology to live safely and independently? 🤔

Our libraries and Technology Enhanced Lives Service (TELS) are teaming up to showcase how technology can support care at home and out in the community. 🫶

More dates and locations will be added so please check back if your local library isn’t listed when you first visit the page. To suggest a library the TELS team should visit, please contact us at [email protected]

Valentine’s Day gets pigeonholed as a “couples-only” holiday, but that’s really a modern marketing spin rather than the heart of what the day can be. If anything, it’s one of the most flexible celebrations we have — it just depends on how you choose to frame it. Here’s why it’s absolutely not just for lovers. ❤️❤️ It originally wasn’t about romance at all. The earliest versions of Valentine’s Day were about kindness, devotion, and community. The romantic angle came much later. So if someone wants to claim it’s “only for couples,” history is very much not on their side. 💙Love comes in more than one flavour. Romantic love is just one branch on a very big tree. Valentine’s Day can celebrate, Family love, friendship, gratitude or the people who make your life easier, brighter, or more meaningful
❤️If anything, limiting it to romance feels like missing the point. It’s an excuse for joy.
Wherever you are, happy Valentine’s day. ❤️❤️
