As HUGE fans of the show, we were absolutely delighted to discover right at the end that both Romesh and Bash had chosen to support refugee charities. This is what humanity looks like.

This is what solidarity looks like 🧡

We're so excited that Romesh Ranganathan and Bash (Sebastian Croft) have donated their winnings from this year's Traitors to Refugee Council and Choose Love.

The two charities are national partners of Refugee Week, and we are so proud to see them getting such crucial donations and recognition to continue their work.

Both Refugee Council and Choose Love provide vital support for people seeking safety, at a time when it's so needed.

National Week of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention

As Right to Remain's National Week of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention comes to a close, we're ending the week with a message of hope, humanity and togetherness.

We asked: “If you could share one message with the world, what would it be?”

The responses speak of kindness, compassion, dignity and the importance of recognising our shared humanity, regardless of where we come from.

Throughout this week, we've been privileged to share the words and perspectives of people with lived experience of immigration detention. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed and trusted us to share their voices.

We also want to thank Right to Remain for bringing communities together through this important week of solidarity. ❤️

While the week may be ending, the importance of listening, understanding and standing alongside those affected by immigration detention continues.

Every voice matters, and every person deserves to be heard. 🧡

National Week of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention

Today, we're continuing to amplify the voices of people with lived experience of immigration detention, focusing on the misconceptions, assumptions and judgements surrounding those held in detention.

We asked: “What do you think people often misunderstand about those held in immigration detention?"

Their responses remind us to look beyond stereotypes and recognise that everyone has their own story, circumstances and experiences.

By listening to those directly affected, we can encourage greater understanding, challenge misconceptions and create space for more informed, compassionate conversations.

Before making assumptions, take the time to listen.🧡

By sharing these perspectives, we hope to encourage people to look beyond assumptions, listen with an open mind and recognise the importance of treating everyone with kindness, compassion and respect.

National Week of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention

Today, we're exploring the importance of kindness, compassion and human connection through the voices of people with lived experience of immigration detention.

We asked: “What did kindness or solidarity mean to you during that time?”

Their responses highlight just how meaningful it can be to have someone who listens, offers support, as a reminder that you're not alone, particularly during times of such uncertainty and isolation.

Kindness and human connection is at the heart of what we do. We're incredibly grateful to our volunteers and everyone who continues to offer friendship, compassion and solidarity to those affected by detention.

We're pleased to be standing with to support National Week of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention

Across the UK, communities are coming together through events, activities and conversations to raise awareness and stand in solidarity with people affected by immigration detention. Visit Right to Remain's website to explore the events taking place throughout the week and find out how you can show your support.

Throughout the week, we'll also be sharing something special through our social media. We'll be using our platform to amplify the voices of people with lived experience of immigration detention, sharing their words, reflections and perspectives in response to questions we've asked.

We hope these contributions will encourage understanding, spark meaningful conversations and, most importantly, create space for people to be heard in their own words.

Because behind every experience is a person, and every voice deserves to be heard.

This October, we’re proud to celebrate, Black History Month 2026 🖤

This year’s theme, ‘Honouring Our Communities’, is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the people, stories, cultures and contributions that continue to shape our communities.

At Beyond Detention, we know the importance of community, connection and belonging. Throughout Black History Month, we join others across the UK in celebrating Black voices, experiences and achievements, past, present and future.

Happy Black History Month! 🖤
