Over the past 13 years the Cinnamon Incubator Programme has trained and mentored 63 social action initiatives

They’ve been replicated in more than 1175 locations.

Transforming the lives of more than 198,962 people.

Those words from a Riverbank mum say so much.

Sometimes, we can over-complicate the challenges facing our communities.

We look for big solutions, new programmes and perfect answers.

But what if sometimes the most powerful response is much simpler?

Friendship.

Connection.

Someone choosing to walk alongside you.

That’s what we love about the approach of the Riverbank Trust.

As they support mums facing difficult circumstances, it all starts with building relationships — creating a community where people feel welcomed, cared for and understood.

It’s simple.

And it’s something we can all be part of.

On 12 November, Riverbank will be sharing more about their approach and how others can get involved at the Cinnamon Incubator Final.

What happens when a mum is trying to hold a family together while facing poverty, isolation and uncertainty?

For many families, these challenges don’t come one at a time. They’re connected — and so the support needs to be too.

That’s the challenge and the team at Riverbank Trust are tackling head on.
Alongside their community groups, they work with a network of partners to create bespoke support plans for families — helping them navigate the different services and support available to them.

Because sometimes the first step isn’t finding an answer.

It’s finding someone who will listen.

And it all starts with connection.

Too many young people are still falling through the gaps when it comes to accessing support for their mental health.

Georgia from Pillar is on a mission to change that.

What we love about The Pillar is that their approach starts with something incredibly simple: relationships.

They bring together evidence-informed mental health practice, relational youth work and faith-rooted hope to support young people in a way that sees the whole person.

Because good mental health support isn’t just about providing a service.

It’s about being known, building trust and creating spaces where young people feel safe, heard and hopeful.

We’re excited to hear more from Georgia and The Pillar at the Cinnamon Incubator Final. 💛

As we prepare for this year's Cinnamon Incubator Final on Thursday 12 November, we're looking back to the event in 2017.

Our winners Up Crime and Leaders Network were tackling BIG issues facing young people.

Sadly, those challenges around crime and opportunities have not been solved.

However, Up Crime and Leaders Network continue to lead the way – helping thousands of young people every year.

We’re proud to have been a part of their journey.

How do you connect with the ‘hard to reach’ if you never leave your church?

It’s a question that gets to the heart of what community work is all about: you have to go where people are.

That’s one of the things we love about the work of Soccer.

They’re out in the community, building relationships and creating connections through the universal language of football.

And sometimes, those connections can change the direction of someone’s life.

As Richard, a parent of an Onside participant, explains:
“Onside supported them to gain their FA qualifications and both went on to study Sport Science at university.”

What starts with football can lead to confidence, qualifications, education and new possibilities.

It’s beautifully simple — and incredibly powerful.

Football has the power to unite people quite unlike anything else.

But what’s it got to do with church?

Quite a lot, as it turns out.

Meet Paul Harbinson, who heads up Soccer.

Onside is helping churches step outside their walls and into their communities — using football to connect with and support young people who might otherwise be overlooked.

It’s about creating opportunities and making sure young people know they matter.
And that’s what makes the work of Onside so powerful.

We’re having a nostalgic moment!

This is a throwback to 2016 and one of our very first Cinnamon Incubator Finals!

Our winners were two fledgling projects, and .

It’s been incredible to see the impact both organisations have made over the years – supporting those experiencing mental health challenges and entering the later years of life.

We’re proud to have been part of their journey - although looking at these photos does make us feel old!

Social action doesn’t happen in isolation. It needs community.

That’s one of the things we love about the work of , one of this year’s Incubator Finalists.

Through initiatives like Root & Rise and Freedom Fuel, ParentFuel is creating spaces where families can feel safe, find belonging and begin to heal.

As Ben Woodfield from New Life Church and Every Life UK puts it:
“We’ve seen families find a safe space, experience healing and become part of our church community. Many are now encountering Jesus for themselves.”

Because sometimes transformation starts with simply knowing you’re not alone.
Community creates belonging.
Belonging can create safety.
And from that place, healing and flourishing can begin.

We can’t wait to learn more about ParentFuel and the community they’re building at the Cinnamon Incubator Final.
