The charity exists to make sure no family faces childhood cancer alone. We support not just the diagnosed child, but also parents, siblings and grandparents. We provide open-ended, life-long support to families from across the UK. Whether they’re going through treatment, coping with its long-term effects, or navigating life after it ends, we’re there every step of the way, offering therapies, tailored programmes, and a community of people who truly understand. After a very busy summer, poor Josh was getting a little bit… smelly! 🦒😅

But thanks to The Laundry Lounge in Northwich, he’s back to his super self, fresh as a daisy and dazzling like the star he is! ✨🫧

Thank you to Joseph for his A-class acting skills and to The Laundry Lounge for supporting The Joshua Tree and giving our favourite giraffe a little TLC!

Check them out! 💚

We were delighted to welcome Dave Beecroft Senior to The Joshua Tree to see the Family Room he so kindly sponsors. 💚

Dave is a local businessman who chose to support The Joshua Tree through his daughter’s connection with the charity, helping us create a welcoming space for the children and families we support.

Our Family Room is a beautiful, bright and open space where families can spend time together, with doors opening directly onto our outdoor play area. Filled with toys and resources for children of different ages, it’s a place for play, connection and a little bit of normality.

The room is also used for our play therapy sessions, providing a safe and comfortable environment for children to express themselves and receive support.

A huge thank you to Dave for his generous sponsorship and for helping us provide spaces like this for families affected by childhood cancer. 🌳💚

Yesterday, our Volunteer Coordinator Hannah Sharpe and Corporate Partnerships Officer Debbie W. had a fantastic day at Barclays’ Volunteering Awareness Event. 💚

It was a brilliant opportunity to meet Barclays colleagues, share more about the work of The Joshua Tree and talk about the many ways people can use their time and skills to support families affected by childhood cancer.

Volunteers play such an important role in what we do, and events like this are a great way to connect with people who want to make a difference in their local community.

A huge thank you to Barclays UK for inviting us along and for creating opportunities for colleagues to give back through volunteering. We loved being part of it! 💚

As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you. 💚🎗️

Thank you to every child, young person and family who shared their story with us, to everyone who sent in those special first day of school photos, to our wonderful volunteers who gave their time at our events, and to every person who joined us to Walk Tall.

Thank you to the incredible fundraisers who cycled, ran, walked and took on challenges for us throughout September. Every story shared, every mile covered and every conversation started has helped raise awareness of the impact childhood cancer can have on the whole family.

The need for support and raising awareness continues beyond September.

Your donations help The Joshua Tree provide practical, emotional and wellbeing support to families affected by childhood cancer across the UK, helping us towards our mission to ensure no family faces childhood cancer alone.

🎗️ If you can, donate today and help us be there for more families: https://donate.justgiving.com/charity/thejoshuatree

Thank you 💚

34 miles completed! 💚🥾

We caught up with our CEO Rich, Paul and the team from BusinessComparison following their incredible Sandstone Trail challenge last Friday.

The team are still recovering after what was a very tough challenge on the body, but every mile was worth it as they walked in memory of beautiful Freya, whose family was supported by The Joshua Tree during her treatment. ✨

They’re now so close to reaching their fundraising target, so if you can, please give them one final push and support their incredible achievement:

Every pound raised goes towards supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer, so no family has to face their journey alone. 💚

A huge well done to the whole team, what an achievement!

“Without charities like The Joshua Tree, I would not know where to turn.”

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Enlli shares her journey and how The Joshua Tree has supported her following her Ovarian cancer diagnosis at just 19 years old.

We support children and young people aged 0–24 affected by childhood cancer, as well as their families, with support tailored to what they need.

Our peer groups, including our young people’s group in North Wales, bring young people together to connect with others who understand, while also having fun and enjoying some much-needed normality.

Thank you, Enlli, for sharing your story with us. 💚

Willow’s words... 💚

Earlier this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month we shared Laura’s words about the support her family received following the loss of beautiful son George. Today, we wanted to share what that support has meant to Willow, his big sister, in her own words.

“When we lost George, I felt very sad and lonely. He was my best friend and play mate. I lost a lot of confidence and worried a lot.

The Joshua Tree have helped me to see that it's ok to look for some sunshine and rainbows, even on the cloudiest days.

When I come here, I can talk about my feelings or just be a bit silly if I want. Being able to talk about George has helped me to feel more like myself again.

Being outdoors helps me to feel calmer. George also loved being outdoors, so it helps me feel close to him too.”

Thank you, Willow, for sharing your words with us. 💚

Childhood cancer affects the whole family, and our support is there for every member of that family, for as long as they need us.

Help us be there for more families like Willow's, make a donation today >> https://www.justgiving.com/charity/thejoshuatree
