🇺🇦 ANOTHER LIFELINE TO UKRAINE – SHIPMENT #204 🚛💙💛

Another truck loaded and another vital consignment of medical equipment heading to Ukraine!

On Thursday, PhysioNet’s latest shipment was loaded directly from Medequip in Maidstone, carrying 70 beds, mattresses, commodes and other essential medical equipment destined for the heroic city of Okhtyrka in Ukraine’s Sumy region.

As the war continues, the need for medical equipment remains immense. Every bed, every commode and every piece of equipment has the potential to make a real difference to someone facing extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

A huge thank you to Medequip and everyone involved in making this shipment possible.

🇿🇼🌍 ZIMBABWE BOUND – PHYSIONET’S 203RD SHIPMENT! 🚢

Another fantastic morning at PhysioNet’s North Yorkshire depot as our amazing volunteers loaded a huge 40ft high-cube shipping container bound for Zimbabwe!

💪 700 items | 6.5 tonnes | £200,000 estimated replacement value!

Loaded entirely by hand, the consignment includes 80 wheelchairs and a substantial range of special needs disability and rehabilitation equipment, much of it in near-new condition.

This marks PhysioNet’s 16th shipment to Zimbabwe, where the equipment will be received by the Rotary Club of Harare Dawn and help improve the lives of people living with disabilities.

The container begins its journey from Gelsthorpe, travelling via Doncaster and Felixstowe before heading to Zimbabwe.

🙏 Our heartfelt thanks go to the Oak Foundation, whose generous support has once again made this vital shipment possible.

And, of course, a huge thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers, including some new faces, who gave up their Saturday morning to make it happen!

🇺🇦 ANOTHER LOAD ON ITS WAY TO UKRAINE 🇺🇦

While our North Yorkshire team were celebrating PhysioNet’s landmark 200th shipment on Saturday 12 September, our South East depot was busy too!

More than 1,000 items of disability and rehabilitation equipment were loaded and sent on their way to You Are Not Alone in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.

The equipment has a PhysioNet value of around £8,550, but an estimated replacement value when new of approximately £250,000 — another remarkable example of good-quality equipment being given a second life where it can make a real difference.

A huge thank you to our brilliant South East volunteers for all the hard work involved in collecting, sorting, preparing and loading such a substantial consignment. 💙💛

🇫🇯 Great news from our South West depot!

Today saw the loading of PhysioNet’s 201st overseas shipment — and our 28th consignment of disability equipment to Fiji. 🎉

Vinaka vaka levu to everyone who helped make this very special load possible, including the Fiji High Commissioner, members of the Fijian community, and of course our fantastic PhysioNet volunteers who worked so hard to get the container packed and on its way. 🙏💙

Another brilliant team effort — and another load of much-needed disability equipment heading to people who will put it to very good use in Fiji.

🎉 WHAT A DAY – PHYSIONET’S 200TH OVERSEAS SHIPMENT! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Gelsthorpe today to help load PhysioNet’s milestone 200th overseas shipment, bound for Moldova. 🇲🇩 🙏

It was an absolute mega load – and one of our biggest ever – with a record 1,093 items, weighing an incredible 5,777 kg, with an estimated value of £16,076.

The photograph doesn’t begin to show everyone who helped throughout the morning, as the loading was a long one and many volunteers had already headed home by the time it was taken. But what a tremendous team effort it was. 👏

We were especially delighted to welcome Dr Ecaterina Gîncotă from Moldova, who was thrilled to see her shipment being loaded first-hand – and even managed to find room for a few more much-needed items! By the end, the vehicle was VERY, VERY full! 😱

And to make the day even more special, Ben from ITV North Calendar joined us to film the loading. We’re hoping to feature on ITV this evening from 6pm. 📺🤞

Today was about far more than a number. Every wheelchair, walking aid and piece of special needs equipment packed into that load has the potential to make a real difference to someone’s life in Moldova.

To every volunteer, supporter and organisation who has helped PhysioNet reach shipment number 200 – thank you. We simply couldn’t do it without you. ❤️🙏

🎉 MAJOR MILESTONE FOR PHYSIONET — AND WE’RE DOING IT IN TRIPLICATE! 🎉

Saturday 12 September promises to be a very special day in PhysioNet’s 21-year history as we celebrate the departure of our 200th international shipment.

And, remarkably, for the first time ever, we won’t be sending just one container overseas that day — we’re planning to send THREE! 🌍🌍🌍

🇲🇩 MOLDOVA — LOAD #9 of 200
Our milestone 200th shipment will leave our North Yorkshire depot bound for CRRC Moldova, packed with vital mobility and rehabilitation equipment.

We are especially delighted that Dr Ecaterina Gincota, Director of CRRC Moldova, will be travelling to North Yorkshire as our guest of honour for this historic loading. Ecaterina will be able to see first-hand the work of our volunteers, meet PhysioNet’s trustees and team, and help us celebrate this remarkable milestone.

🇫🇯 FIJI - LOAD #28 of 200
Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away at our South West depot, Harry Franks, Sarah Cowlan and their fantastic team of volunteers are planning to load another 40ft container for the Fiji Mobility Alliance — continuing a relationship that has helped transform lives across Fiji.

🇺🇦 UKRAINE - LOAD #32 of 200
And, as if two containers weren’t enough, our South East depot will also be in action, where Ed Netsel and his amazing team are preparing another shipment of desperately needed equipment for Ukraine.

Three depots. Three countries. Three containers. One extraordinary day.

Reaching 200 international shipments is a milestone of which everyone connected with PhysioNet can be immensely proud — our volunteers, trustees, supporters, donors, healthcare partners and the countless organisations and individuals who have helped us along the way.

And there may even be a little friendly competition on 12 September…

🏁 Which PhysioNet depot will be the first to close the doors and seal its container?

North Yorkshire, South West or South East?

Let the loading race begin! 🚛🌍💙

A MASSIVE THANK YOU! 🚣💙

A huge, heartfelt thank you to our incredible Team PhysioNet and our fantastic Team Captain Steve Nolan for their sterling efforts on the River Ouse in York today. With glorious sunshine and perfect racing conditions, it was a wonderful day enjoyed by everyone.

While we may not have taken home the trophy, we certainly finished well clear of the bottom of the leaderboard and, more importantly, had an amazing time representing PhysioNet and raising vital funds and awareness for our charity.

A very special thank you goes to Hannah and her wonderful crew from The Kumi Foundation, Darlington. We simply couldn’t have done it without you. You paddled like seasoned professionals, perfectly in sync with the beat set by our drummer, Steve. Your enthusiasm, teamwork and determination were outstanding, and we are so grateful that you joined us.

To everyone who came along to cheer us on from the riverbank, donated so generously, shared our fundraising page, or sent messages of encouragement, thank you. Your support means so much to our volunteers and will help PhysioNet continue giving a new lease of life to unwanted disability equipment and restoring independence to people with disabilities around the world.

We hope everyone can now put their feet up, enjoy a few well-earned cold drinks, and celebrate a fantastic day’s achievement.

From all of us at PhysioNet – thank you for your incredible support. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

Roll on next year’s Dragon Boat Challenge… we’ll be back, bigger, stronger and even better! 🚣💙🙏
