Sometimes you finish a whole conversation and realise nobody asked a single thing about you.

You listened. Asked questions. Remembered what they were worried about last week.

You had things you wanted to say too, but there never seemed to be a moment.

You don’t regret being there for them. You just wish they’d sometimes call with nothing they needed to talk about, other than how you’ve been.

Your parents may never see the person you become in old age. Your partner will never meet the little child you used to be. And your children may never know who you were before they came along.

Even the people who love you most will only ever know parts of your story.

But you were there for all of it. Every heartbreak, every mistake, every moment you didn’t think you’d get through.

So please, be kinder to yourself.

You’re the only person who has been with you from the very beginning, and you’ll be there until the very end.

Anxiety can make you seem like the easiest person to be around.

You never mind where everyone wants to eat. You apologise for asking simple questions. You say “it’s okay” even when something has upset you.

People describe you as easygoing, but they don’t see how much time you spend worrying about being difficult.

And sometimes you get so used to making sure everyone else is comfortable that you forget to ask yourself what you actually want.

What is a symptom of anxiety that you think has the most impact?

28/10/2026

I’ll always appreciate the people who know when to get me out of my own head. The ones who send the “come on, we’re going out” message, make me laugh when I’ve been thinking too much, or sit beside me without asking me to explain everything. They might think they’re just keeping me company. Sometimes they’re giving me a few hours where my mind isn’t the hardest place to be.

Some people don’t have a person they can call without wondering if they’re bothering them. No parent who automatically checks in. No sibling who notices they’ve gone quiet. No family group chat waiting to hear their good news. They learned to calm themselves down, make difficult decisions alone and celebrate things quietly because there wasn’t always somebody there to share them with. You can know someone for years and still have no idea how much of their life they’ve had to carry without a safety net.

🎬🍿 Movie Night with the Lads!

Our young men’s group, in partnership with Ligoniel Improvement Association were in tonight for a movie night!

Over the past few weeks, the young men have been putting in the work to shape and develop their own group, making sure their voices and ideas are at the heart of it.

Over the next while, we’ll be exploring issues that matter to young men while having plenty of fun along the way!

Tonight was all about switching off, enjoying a film with food and munchies and having a bit of craic! 👏

You’re not behind. You’re on your own path.

27/10/2026

Sometimes your body notices something before you’re ready to admit it. You feel tense around someone you keep telling yourself is fine. You feel exhausted after conversations you keep defending. You feel relief when plans get cancelled with someone you supposedly want to see. We can explain almost anything away in our heads. Sometimes it’s worth paying attention to what keeps happening inside you while you’re doing it.

26/10/2026

You’re allowed to outgrow versions of yourself that once made sense. The things you tolerated. The people you chased. The way you spoke to yourself. The life you thought you wanted. Changing your mind doesn’t make you fake or inconsistent. Sometimes it just means you learned something your old self didn’t know yet.
