EBUKI was formed from a meeting in 2007 which agreed that earth building needed a voice. It was incorporated in 2009 and became a registered charity in 2012. Over the years we have put on an annual conference, we have run an earth building festival since 2015, written the national earth building training standards, worked on materials research and collaborated with earth building organisations across Europe and beyond. And all this by a group of earth builders, architects, academics and others who understand the need for a voice for earth building but not how to do it until we try something. Little by little we are changing how earth building is seen, getting earth building seen. Its the other things which are harder, how to apply for funding and get all the jobs done by volunteers who already work hard to keep their own earth building business moving.
