Springboard Brighton & Hove Performing Arts Festival

The Springboard 2027 syllabuses are now available on our website. Please take a good look, because there have been quite a few changes.

In the music sections we now provide an opportunity for GCSE and A-level Music students to try out (and even to record) their exam performances. And those taking piano exams can do the same.

In Speech & Drama classes you can now opt out of the competitive aspect, either by letting us know in advance, or just by telling us on the day.

We look forward to seeing you in Brighton & Hove in March 2027.

At Springboard we wanted to express our sorrow at the passing of Dame Felicity Lott, and to acknowledge her kindness and generosity towards young singers. For many years she supported the recital class named in her honour by offering the winner a coaching session. This has proved invaluable to a succession of young singers, among them Kitty and Gigi Casey, shown here at a concert to celebrate our centenary, which Dame Felicity attended.

This explains very succinctly the value of taking part in a festival like Springboard. Thank you all for playing so beautifully.

Recognition is well-earned for our Roedean pianist, who impressed at the Springboard Festival. 🎹

Jemima (Year 10) won 1st in the 13–14 years Baroque class, 2nd in Jazz & Light Music, and earned an invitation to the Junior Championship recital to perform her trio of pieces after scoring highly in the Romantic class. Charlie (Year 12) won both the Grade 6 & 7 class and the memory class and now hopes to progress to the Senior Championship. Beatrice (Year 9) placed 2nd in Romantic (13-14 years and under) and 3rd in Jazz & Light Music (13-14 years).

Events like Springboard give our students a supportive competitive stage, expert feedback, and opportunities to build confidence and musicianship.
