Very sad to hear this sad news about the passing of one of our long serving members, Desmond 💔

HASSARD, Desmond John – 11th October 2026.

Peacefully at The Beeches Care Home, Aghalee, aged 67 years.

Dearly beloved son of the late Rev. Austin and Joan Hassard. Loving brother of Kathleen and Brian, brother-in-law to Ian. Uncle No.1 to Mark (Amy) and David. Devoted great-uncle to Maisie.

A service of thanksgiving will be held in Magheragall Methodist Church, Glenavy Road, Lisburn on Wednesday 14th October at 1.30pm; following a private family committal.

Family and friends welcome to pay their respects at 36 Fulmar Crescent, Lisburn, BT28 3HT on Monday to 10.00pm and Tuesday to 5.00pm. Desmond’s remains will be received in Magheragall Methodist Church on Tuesday evening from 7.00pm, family and friends welcome.

No flowers please. Donations, if desired, online via Ronnie Thompson website or cheques payable to Magheragall Methodist Church c/o Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors, 20 Ballinderry Road, Lisburn, BT28 1UF.

Desmond will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family and circle of friends.

This September, the Wills and Trusts service are hosting an in-person seminar at Mencap Children's Centre in Belfast. The event takes place Wednesday 23rd September, starting at 10.15am until 1pm.
