Today staff from across Inspire North came together for a second Housing Away Day. Several managers presented on varying topics including new incoming regulations, STAIRS, phase 2 of AwaabsLaw, recording ASB, Asset Management & Competence and Conduct Standard.

A great day; and with such a wide variety of staff from various services it meant an opportunity to share ways of working, learning from others & gave a great opportunity for Q & A.

Sharing information strengthens staff knowledge, educates teams and improves service delivery.

We recently said a sad goodbye to one of our Security staff in Richmond as Waj left to move on to a new career opportunity. Waj has worked at The Galleries for several years; ensuring our clients and hostel building remained safe and secure on a night and weekends. Clients presented Waj with a lovely card to say THANK YOU and GOOD LUCK!

This week management staff from across our services attended Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training with Crisp & Crane Training Ltd. The course teaches de-escalation, prevention, and safe physical intervention to help adults support vulnerable children managing trauma and focuses on prevention over reaction by creating safe environments, recognising behavioral triggers, and responding with emotional connection.
Whilst much of the week was classroom based education and workbooks there was also time to build in various role plays and breakaway techniques training. Great demonstration of team work, personal development and learning time from everyone.

Clients and staff jointly updated a notice board in The Galleries, our young persons hostel in Richmond. All spent time talking about racism, being an ally, cultures, diversity and inclusion. Clients gave great examples and both clients and staff talked openly about past experiences.

Yesterday some staff from YPP & RACS services completed Level 3 Safeguarding Adults course with Neil Lee Training. With lots of group discussions and brilliant case study examples; for some it was a refresher and for some an opportunity to up-skill. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
