On Friday 2 October, 10 of our A-Level History and Government & Politics students had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a debate organised by Parallel Histories at Stormont Buildings.

Exploring the topic ‘The Slow Progress of the Peace Process’, students examined both unionist and nationalist perspectives, using historical evidence to support their arguments and engage in thoughtful discussion. 💬

A special well done to Jonny Topping and Shannon Farrell, who were interviewed by BBC Newsline and featured on the programme later that evening.

This marks students third year participating in this valuable event, which continues to provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop their critical thinking, debating and communication skills.

A brilliant experience for everyone involved! 🌟

What an incredible experience at our 2026 Stormont Conference. We were so impressed by the fantastic work of students from across Northern Ireland, coming together to debate a complex and difficult history. 100 students from a range of communities came together to debate why there have been obstacles to the peace process in the region, and used evidence to form articulate and brilliantly supported claims. They also enjoyed the brilliant Q&A session with Matthew O'Toole MLA. We are incredibly grateful to all involved for their efforts.

Our brand new British Empire series of 7 new ebooks is now live, free to access for all and making a splash in headlines today! We are immensely proud of all the work that has gone into this series, and believe what we have produced will genuinely be an asset in the classroom. We want to protect teachers to teach those topics so frought with tension, controversy and emotion, and we hope these help some of you I have connected with feel empowered in your schools.
