🔥 IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY UPDATE FOR PENN WOOD SCOUTING CENTRE 🔥
Following the recent fire on Selsley Common and guidance issued by Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, we want to ensure all users of Penn Wood Scouting Centre remain safe and prepared.
Due to current weather conditions and heightened fire risk, we are implementing temporary fire precautions across the site until further notice.
Key Precautions in Effect:
❌ NO wood burning for campfires or altar fires.
⛺ Lightweight Cooking: Allowed on hard standing ONLY with adult supervision (strictly NO cooking on grass).
🌭 Gas BBQs: Allowed with responsible adult supervision.
🪵 Altar Fires (Half Barrels): Cooking is permitted using coals only. Coals must be left in the drum to cool safely. (Please note: Half barrels are NOT provided by Penn Wood Scouting Centre).
