Welcome to our new exec committee!

Thank you to everyone who supported our July social with annual general meeting at Disability Stockport. We had a lovely evening with buffet whilst we elected our new committee members for the next 12 months.

Dermot our president gave a special thank you to David for his leadership of the group (alongside his vice chair Andy) over the past three years, having professionalised key areas of the group and the executive committee, whilst ensuring a stable course. We now welcome Heidi as our new chair (alongside Jennifer as her vice chair), and wish them all our support and best wishes as the group enters an exciting new chapter in its 22 year history.

Oh what a wonderful time we had a Stockport Pride 2026. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and everyone who kindly contributed towards our fundraising stall this year. It was an absolute delight to be back!

📢 Annual General Meeting – July Social 📢

We're pleased to announce that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place during our 8th July Social at Disability Stockport.

🍽️ A buffet will be provided, but please remember to bring your own soft drinks!

The AGM is an important event for our group, as we'll be electing our Executive Committee Officers for the next 12 months. These volunteer roles are essential to the running of the organisation and help ensure we can continue to operate effectively and meet our legal obligations.

Serving on the committee is a fantastic opportunity to:
✅ Develop valuable professional and leadership skills
✅ Support and represent our members
✅ Help shape the future direction of the group
✅ Play a key role in planning and delivering activities

🏳️‍🌈 Returning to where it all started! 🏳️‍🌈

We’re pleased to announce that we have secured a venue for our June social!

As we already have 🏳️‍🌈 LGBT+ PLUS Drinks 🍹 taking place at the Arden Arms on Wednesday 17th June from 7pm . This event will replace our usual 2nd Wednesday social on 10th June.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our original pre-covid venue for this special one-off social — 5 years since we last met there! 🎉

If you plan to attend, we kindly ask that you purchase at least one drink to support the venue.

We can’t wait to see you all there! 💜

Join us for our April social tomorrow (Wed 8th) from 7pm at the Old Rectory. It will be 🎱🎲 Games night 🎳🃏 so please bring along your favourite board games or pack of cards. It will be great to see you all 😀

Our LGBT+ PLUS Active walk is today! 14th March at Alexandra Park, Cheadle Old Rd, Edgeley. Meet either at Stockport interchange at 12.30pm for the bus or directly at the Cafe at the park itself 1pm 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️Come along a and bring your friends 🏳️‍🌈

Join us tomorrow for a fun quiz night with prizes as well as a special presentation! Certificates will be presented to our officers who have recently completed their training courses 🏆 🏳️‍🌈. You will also be introduced to our newly appointed President! See you at the Old Rectory from 7pm 🥳
