SFB Events Sci-Fi Ball is one of the longest running, best-loved, fan-run sci-fi events in the UK and all to raise money for their chosen charity the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Now in it’s 27th year, the Sci-Fi Ball is one of the longest running, best loved, fan run sci-fi events in the country. Run entirely by unpaid volunteers they stage a fantastic three day event with state of the art production equipment including a multi-screen stage, hi-def recording and stunning indoor pyrotechnics. The event features talks, autograph and photos sessions, interactive gameshows a

nd charity auctions. The highlight of the weekend is the Ball itself, a sumptuous three course sit down formal banquet followed by the best in after dinner entertainment….

We are so sad to announce the passing of our dear friend and Ball Ambassador Lyn Mura. A deep loss for Jan, all their family and friends and everyone who knew her. A kind, measured and thoughtful soul, whose advice and opinions were much valued; and with a sense of fun treasured by all of us.

A reminder that Brett's memorial - featuring a burning longship, trumpets and flaming arrows - will be taking place next weekend; and Anne would love to see as many of Brett's friends there as possible.

If you can posibly fill in the "I'm attending" form; that would help with catering plans. If you have any difficulties; just message us and we'll add you to the list manually!

I am sorry I haven't been up to this before.
I would like to thank everyone for their comments, memories and kind thoughts.
I look forward to sharing these and more on the 31st August to give Brett the rousing send off he deserves.

Dear All,
Brett’s funeral will take place on Friday 23rd August 2024 at 3pm and will be available via webcast. We request that attendance in person for the funeral is for close friends and family, however, we will be celebrating Brett and hope as many as possible from his friends from work life, the Ball, the Treasure Hunt and the many other facets of his life will join us at his memorial on the 31st.
