If you are interested in making a booking to use Stoke St Milborough Village Hall for a private or public event, please bear the following in mind before you enquire...

The Committee currently comprises of members who are in full time employment. Please therefore be patient in giving us the time to get back to you. Please enquire at least SIX WEEKS ahead of your event. This is to enable the Committee to discuss your proposed event at our next Committee meeting and to ensure that we will have sufficient numbers of Committee members available to open up/close up/staff the event, as required. (Funeral wakes are an exception to this rule. We will always endeavour to make the Hall available for such events at short notice.) The more flexible you are able to be with dates/timings, the easier it will be for us to fit your event into our schedule. Consider which facilities in particular you may require in order to make your event work successfully, e.g. kitchen, bar, projector, music... The more we know about this early on, the more likely it is that we will be able to fulfil your wishes. When we have discussed your proposed event with all Committee members and if we are in a position to accept the booking, we will send you a more detailed booking form, which will include pricing and payment information. Many thanks! Stoke St Milborough Village Hall Committee

POSTPONED - Monday 2 November - Creative Community Cafe

Due to the likelihood of the road through the village being completely closed around the beginning of November, the decision has been made to postpone the Creative Community Cafe for this month. We will invite those providers of health checks and advice services to attend the February cafe instead, as surely the road will be open again by then(!)

In the meantime, put Monday 7 December in your diary for the next Creative Community Cafe, when we will be working together on making Christmas decorations. Watch out for further details coming soon on WhatsApp and our page.

Huge thanks to everyone who turned up for the Quiz Night hosted by The Three Horseshoes last night. Amazing to see so many turning out on a damp and dark Monday night in October! Congratulations to the winning team, Sorted for Cheese & Quiz, who scored an incredible 93% to take away the grand prize of £130, to Hopefully Right who claimed the second prize of £60 and to Bald who took third place for £30.

We're still counting up the proceeds, but there should be in the region of £300 coming to the Village Hall's Energy Improvement Fund from the quiz and the raffle, so thank you all for supporting the event.

Billie and the Horseshoes team did a fantastic job of keeping everyone royally fed and watered, and we hope to be back for more of the same in the New Year - watch this space...

Monday 6 July - Creative Community Cafe, from 2pm to 4:30pm

The main group activity for this month will be to pool resources related to great days out and social activities in the local area, so that we can disseminate this information via the village website and social media. Bring and share your own recommendations and if you have any leaflets or other information, they are welcome too. The website admins can then put everyone’s shared ideas onto the website and this will help newcomers and visitors to the area when they are exploring in search of things to do. We will also be giving instruction in how to use FixMyStreet https://www.fixmystreet.com/ to report potholes and other problems to the relevant bodies responsible. Finally, if you didn't make it to the meeting about the Severn Trent road closures on 25 June, you can drop in for an update and we'll share what we know.

Our next Creative Community Cafe will take place on Monday 8th June from 2pm to 5pm (not 1st June, due a private booking). Come and help us plant up our troughs and hanging baskets to make them look great for the summer season. If you have any suitable plants to donate, they would be very gratefully received! There will also be a bit of tidying and light maintenance outside that we can do if the weather is kind. Tea & coffee will be flowing and, as always, you can bring cakes etc. to share if you wish and/or your own craft project to work on. You can also bring any technical / internet queries for us to help and advise on. Everything is run on an honesty basis - just make a donation in return for anything you take away with you.
