PSI Team Leader Says Silent UFO Hovered Over Duckett’s Grove Before Chilling Tent Encounter:

A paranormal investigation at Duckett’s Grove in Ireland took a disturbing turn when the team leader says he witnessed a silent spinning UFO hovering above his group - before waking hours later to footsteps outside his tent inside the locked grounds.

The account comes from the team leader of Paranormal Searchers Ireland (PSI) that had travelled to Duckett’s Grove for one of its regular weekend investigations. Around eight team members were there, along with several supporters and members of Belfast Paranormal Investigators who had joined them for the trip. As they had done on previous visits, the group set up camp in a large shed between the ruined castle and its gardens, using it as a base for sleeping, storing equipment and gathering through the night.

On the first evening, the group split in two. The men went into the castle while the women went into the gardens, with plans to swap over later. Around 20 minutes into the investigation, while the men were inside one of the towers, a message came through on the walkie-talkie. The group in the gardens said they were seeing strange objects in the sky and asked the others to come down.

At first, there was scepticism. But the team left the tower and started making their way back toward the gardens. On the way, the team leader stopped briefly at the camp area to change the batteries in his torch, while the others continued ahead.

He then walked through the dark grounds alone.

As he came through the first garden and approached the second, he could see the rest of the team gathered ahead, all pointing off into the distance. Looking in the same direction, he says he could make out four or five objects far away in the clear night sky, perhaps 30 or 40 miles off, moving at speed and in a way that did not seem normal.

But while the others were focused on those distant objects, the team leader says something else caught his eye.

Looking above the group, he saw what he describes as a large circular craft hanging low in the sky, perhaps 200 to 300 feet above the ground. He says it was big, metallic and clearly structured, with the classic disc-like shape often associated with UFO reports. The underside carried a shade of orange, while the upper section appeared to have fully blacked-out square windows. It had a saucer-like form and seemed to be spinning as it moved.

What shocked him most was the silence.

There was no engine noise, no hum, no roar and no sound of movement at all.

He says the object had no visible lights on top, yet the whole craft was still clearly visible, as though it was illuminated in some other way. Stunned, the team leader shouted to the others, asking why they were all looking into the distance when there was something directly above them.

But by the time they looked up, it was gone.

According to the team leader, the object had vanished completely.

That left him in a deeply uncomfortable position. He was now the only person saying he had seen the close object above the group. His partner believed him, but he says the reaction from others left him uneasy and embarrassed. As the leader of an established paranormal team, and someone who had spent years investigating unexplained activity across Ireland, he felt he was being looked at as though he had imagined the whole thing.

The night continued, but the atmosphere changed.

The distant objects in the sky slowly faded away. The group stayed in the gardens for some time and later returned to continue the investigation in other parts of the castle. But for the team leader, the rest of the night felt wrong. He describes a heavy, dark unease settling over the camp. Other strange lights were reportedly seen around the property, and the group also experienced notable paranormal activity during the hours that followed.

Looking back, the team leader says he did not automatically assume he had seen something extraterrestrial. In fact, for years, he leaned toward a more grounded explanation. He believed the object looked metallic, physical and engineered. His instinct was that it may have been man-made, some kind of advanced craft rather than something involving "little green men."

But what happened later that night made the whole experience much harder to dismiss.

After the team finally settled into their tents, the team leader says he woke in the early morning light and immediately sensed something was wrong. His partner was already awake and staring at him with a look of dread. She raised two fingers in a walking motion to signal that she could hear someone outside.

Then he heard it too.

Footsteps on gravel.

The sound was moving around the right-hand side of the tent near the top of their heads. At first, he assumed one of the others had got up and was moving around outside. But when he whispered that to his partner, she told him she had already checked and that nobody else appeared to be awake.

That was when the situation became more disturbing.

The grounds were locked. The castle was secured. The team leader had the keys. No one should have been able to get in or out.

Then, according to his account, whatever was outside touched the tent.

He immediately jumped up and burst out - but there was nobody there.

For the team leader, that was the moment that changed everything. The UFO sighting had already been sitting at the front of his mind the moment he woke up. He says he felt guilty that nobody else had seen what he saw and uneasy that some people seemed to think he had lost the plot. But with footsteps around the tent and something physically touching it only a few hours later, he was left asking a question he still cannot answer.

If the object in the sky was connected to something beyond normal explanation, could whatever was outside the tent have been linked to it?

That question has stayed with him ever since.

He says that, without the tent incident, he would probably have settled on the idea that the craft was advanced human technology, perhaps American, moving through the Irish sky that night. But because of what happened in the early hours that followed, he says he can no longer say that with confidence.

Now, with UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena back in the news, the team leader says the time feels right to finally tell the story.

Was it a secret craft? Was it something non-human? Was the thing outside the tent connected to the object in the sky, or was it something else entirely?

He still cannot say for certain.

But one thing has never changed. He went to Duckett’s Grove expecting a paranormal investigation inside a haunted ruin. Instead, he came away with a sighting and a night he has never been able to forget.

Ballyboley Forest: The Haunted Woodland Still Scarred By Disease

There are forests people avoid after dark, and then there is Ballyboley - a Co Antrim woodland in the north of Ireland where the ghost stories have survived even the disease that cut through the trees.

Ballyboley Forest, between Ballyclare and Larne, has long carried a reputation as one of the most unsettling places in Northern Ireland/The North. For years, paranormal investigators and local folklore followers have linked the forest to strange sightings, unexplained sounds, dark mists, hooded figures and the feeling of being watched among the trees.

But the latest reason Ballyboley is back in the spotlight is not only supernatural. It is physical.

The Irish News recently reported that Ballyboley is still yet to fully recover more than a decade after larch tree disease was discovered there. The disease, known as Phytophthora ramorum, forced parts of the forest to be felled to stop it spreading, leaving sections of the woodland visibly changed.

That is what gives Ballyboley its strange new layer. This is not just a haunted forest story. It is a haunted forest with real scars.

NI Direct confirms Ballyboley Forest was first planted in 1957 and says there is an outbreak of Japanese Larch disease, P. ramorum, at the forest, with visitors asked to follow biosecurity signs to help stop the spread. DAERA says P. ramorum is a fungus-like pathogen that can attack a wide range of trees and plants, and that the first confirmation of the disease in Japanese larch in Northern Ireland/The North came in August 2010 on the Antrim plateau.

Forest Research describes Phytophthora ramorum as a highly destructive water mould that can cause extensive damage and death to more than 150 plant species, with larch trees particularly vulnerable.

For walkers, that means Ballyboley is not only a place of old stories. It is a woodland where gaps in the trees, felled areas and younger replacement growth now sit alongside the older legends. For paranormal followers, that only adds to the atmosphere.

The folklore around Ballyboley has been repeated for years. Some accounts connect the area with ancient druidic rituals. Others speak of phantom footsteps, voices between the trees, strange mists and figures seen moving through the darkness. Spirited Isle, a paranormal location guide, describes Ballyboley as a place tied to local stories of dread, disorientation and unexplained encounters, while noting that such experiences remain open to interpretation.

That point matters. Nobody can prove every story told about Ballyboley. A dark forest, bad weather, isolation and fear can all play tricks on people. But the reputation has lasted because the same type of stories keep returning: someone hears something behind them, someone sees a shape in the trees, someone feels they are no longer alone.

Now, with the forest still recovering from a very real disease, Ballyboley feels like a place where two stories have crossed.

One is the natural story of a woodland damaged by a destructive pathogen and slowly trying to grow back.

The other is the older story, passed through folklore and paranormal circles, of a forest where the trees themselves seem to hold something darker.

Whether Ballyboley is haunted, cursed, or simply one of the most atmospheric forests in Ireland, its reputation is not going away. The disease cut into the woodland, but it did not kill the stories.

If anything, it may have made them stronger.

British Ghost Hunter Claims She Was Scratched By Spirit Inside America’s ‘Sallie House’

A British ghost hunter has claimed she was scratched by what she believes was a demonic child spirit during an overnight investigation at one of America’s most infamous haunted houses.

Brocarde, a 42-year-old singer and paranormal investigator from Oxfordshire, said the incident happened inside the Sallie House in Atchison, Kansas.

The property is one of the best-known haunted houses in the United States and has been the subject of ghost tours, investigations and paranormal reports for decades.

According to the account, Brocarde spent the night inside the house during a visit to the United States and began feeling unwell at around 3am.

She later claimed she discovered five scratch marks on her arm.

Brocarde said she believed the marks were caused by the spirit of a young girl known as “Sallie”, whose name has become attached to the house’s most famous haunting.

The legend around the Sallie House claims a young girl died there in the early 1900s after an emergency operation allegedly went wrong.

The story has never been proven as historical fact, but it remains central to the house’s paranormal reputation.

Reports linked to the house include unexplained noises, movement, cold spots, electrical disturbances and claims of visitors or investigators being scratched.

Brocarde claimed the experience left her unwell for several days.

There is no independent proof that the marks were caused by paranormal activity.

The case is another example of why the Sallie House continues to draw paranormal investigators, sceptics and ghost hunters from around the world.

For believers, it is one of America’s most active haunted locations.

For sceptics, it remains a powerful mix of folklore, fear, suggestion and the atmosphere of a house with a long paranormal reputation.

Man Claims Edinburgh Poltergeist Left Burning Scratches Across His Back.
A man who walked into one of Edinburgh’s most feared graveyards says he left with burning red scratches across his back and upper thigh - and no human hand ever touched him.

The reported attack happened after a night-time ghost walk through Greyfriars Kirkyard, a historic Edinburgh graveyard long associated with one of Scotland’s most notorious paranormal legends: the Mackenzie Poltergeist.

The visitor, named in reports as 37-year-old Kris Rennie from Shawlands in Glasgow, had joined the Double Dead ghost walk run by City of the Dead Tours. The tour began in the Niddry Street Vaults before moving into Greyfriars Kirkyard and the area around the Black Mausoleum, the tomb linked to Sir George Mackenzie, a 17th-century Lord Advocate remembered by many as “Bloody Mackenzie” because of his persecution of the Covenanters.

Rennie said he did not notice anything unusual during the tour itself. But after returning to his hotel in Leith, he said he felt a burning sensation on his back. When he removed his T-shirt and looked in the mirror, he says he found his back covered in red scratches.

According to his account, the marks were not faint or easily dismissed. He described them as burning, livid scratches that later became welts, with broken skin and bleeding by the following morning. He said he had been wearing a thick coat during the tour, had not fallen, did not drink alcohol, and could not explain how the marks appeared.

His conclusion was blunt: he believes something paranormal attacked him.

The Mackenzie Poltergeist has been linked for years to claims of physical attacks inside or near Greyfriars Kirkyard. Visitors have reported unexplained scratches, bite marks, bruises, burns, sudden illness, cold spots, panic, and the feeling of being touched or pushed by something unseen.

City of the Dead Tours manager Charlotte Golledge said people have contacted the company after tours to report marks and injuries they could not explain, including scratches, bruises, bite marks and burns.

The story is not just built around one visitor. The legend surrounding the Mackenzie Poltergeist has become one of the most infamous paranormal cases in Britain because so many of the claims involve physical contact. This is not simply a case of someone saying they heard footsteps or saw a shadow in the corner of their eye. The disturbing part of the Greyfriars story is that people claim they have left the graveyard marked.

The haunting is said to centre on the Black Mausoleum, the tomb associated with Sir George Mackenzie. Nearby is the Covenanter’s Prison, where hundreds of Covenanters were held in brutal conditions in the 17th century. That history has helped turn Greyfriars Kirkyard into one of Edinburgh’s darkest tourist locations, drawing ghost hunters, sceptics, historians and thrill-seekers from around the world.

Sceptics will point to fear, darkness, suggestion, old stone walls, heavy clothing, crowds, alcohol, adrenaline or ordinary injuries noticed later. Those explanations may satisfy some people. But for believers, the repeated nature of the claims and the physical marks reported by visitors are what make the Mackenzie Poltergeist so difficult to ignore.

Rennie’s account now adds another chilling chapter to a legend that refuses to die.

A man enters a graveyard after dark. He feels nothing at the time. He leaves. Then, alone in a hotel room, his back begins to burn.

And when he looks in the mirror, the marks are already there.

THE WHITE LADY OF KINSALE

For generations, people in Kinsale have told stories of a pale woman seen near old walls, dark windows and quiet streets after nightfall.

She is usually called the White Lady.

Like many Irish ghost stories, the details change depending on who is telling it. Some say she is connected to heartbreak. Others say she is tied to a death that happened long ago. Some place her near old stone buildings, others near the harbour, where the air off the water can make even familiar streets feel different after dark.

What stays the same is the image people remember.

A woman in white.

Still.

Silent.

Seen only for a moment before she is gone.

Kinsale is the kind of place where stories like this survive easily. It has old walls, narrow streets, harbour lights, historic buildings and centuries of human life layered into the same small town. People lived there, worked there, waited there, grieved there, and disappeared there long before anyone thought of calling a place haunted.

That is what gives the story its weight.

The White Lady is not usually described as violent or threatening. She is not the kind of ghost that chases people down corridors or screams from dark rooms. She is more often spoken of as a presence.

Someone seen near a window.

Someone moving where no one should be.

Someone standing in the corner of the eye, gone the second you turn properly to look.

In some versions, she is linked to love and loss. A woman waiting for someone who never came back. In others, she is part of the older tradition of ghostly female figures whose appearance marks sorrow rather than danger. Ireland has no shortage of those stories. The banshee, the woman at the ford, the mourning figure by the road - all of them carry the same idea that grief can leave a shape behind.

The White Lady of Kinsale fits into that world.

There may be no single record that explains exactly who she was meant to be. That is often how folklore works. It does not always preserve a name, a date or a clean explanation. It preserves a feeling.

A figure in pale clothing.

A town after dark.

A window with someone standing where nobody should be.

And the simple question people ask afterwards:

Did I really see that?

What makes stories like this last is not proof. It is repetition. One person tells another. A visitor hears something strange. A local remembers what their family used to say. A story becomes part of the place, and eventually the place becomes difficult to imagine without the story attached to it.

That is why the White Lady still matters as a piece of Irish ghost-lore.

Whether she began as a real tragedy, a half-seen figure in bad light, or a story told so often that it became part of Kinsale itself, she remains one of those old Irish hauntings that refuses to disappear completely.

If you have ever walked through an old town at night and felt that someone was watching from a dark window, you will understand why stories like this survive.

Some places do not need to shout to feel haunted.

They only need silence, stone, memory and one figure in white.
