At our AOTOS Autumn Conference, Zoe South will bring her lived experience of hidden disability to a session exploring the realities of being a disabled singer and what inclusive teaching can look like in practice.

Having lived with hidden disabilities for most of her life, Zoe’s experiences have profoundly shaped the way she thinks about singing, teaching, bodies and disability.

In her session, Singing Disabled, Zoe will explore:
- The realities of living and working as a disabled singer
- How disability and chronic conditions can affect singing and teaching
- Practical, compassionate approaches that can help disabled singers thrive
- How teachers can create more inclusive learning environments
- The assumptions we make about what disabled singers can and cannot do, and how we might challenge them

This is an opportunity to listen, reflect and gain practical ideas that could change the way you approach teaching. Whether you teach disabled singers, live with disability yourself, or simply want to develop a more inclusive practice, there is something here for you.

☕ Fancy a coffee and a chat? Join us on Monday October 19, from 11 am to 12 pm for our next Online Coffee Meet-up.

Teaching singing can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be surprisingly isolating. That's why AOTOS runs regular Online Coffee Mornings, an informal space to connect with fellow members, share experiences, ask questions and simply enjoy a conversation with people who understand the joys (and challenges!) of the profession.

There's no agenda and no pressure. Just bring your coffee or tea and join the conversation. Your AOTOS membership gives you access to these useful discussions.

Previous chats have covered everything from:
🎵 When a student is really ready for exams
🎵 Insurance options for singing teachers
🎵 Sharing exciting personal projects and new repertoire
🎵 Building (and rebuilding) a teaching practice
🎵 Retirement and winding down
🎵 Imposter syndrome
🎵 Losing students and staying motivated

Whether you have a question to ask, an idea to share, or if you just want to catch up with colleagues, we'd love to see you there. 💙☕

Secure your spot here: https://aotos.org.uk/product/online-coffee-meet-october-2026/. Just remember to log in to claim your free space.
