Our current Chair & Treasurer plan on staying involved, and will be there to support you. We’d love someone new in both roles, but we’re open to Co-Chair / Co-Treasurer arrangements too.

FoLPS fits around work and family life. It’s a great way to help the school, meet other parents and have some fun along the way!

We’re looking forward to seeing lots of you at school later today for our Colour Run! A few reminders:
• Gates open at 1pm and we’re aiming to start the races a little after 2pm (if you’re racing, please aim to be on site by 2pm at the latest).
• We’ll have some light refreshments available to purchase and also an ice cream van on site.
• We are also running a raffle with some lovely prizes donated very kindly by local businesses – tickets will be available from our stalls for £1 each. The raffle will be drawn at the end of the races.
• If you haven’t yet collected your wrist band or colour pack please come along to the ‘Registration’ stall to collect these. You’ll also be able to pay for entry here if you haven’t pre-booked.
• Everyone running the race/taking part in the colour fight must wear protective eyewear – we will have some sunglasses for sale tomorrow for £2 a pair.
• We also recommend all colour throwers/people closely supporting the children wear eye protection so please bring along glasses/sunglasses.
• We will be selling extra colour powder sachets so everyone can get involved in a colour fight at the end – please don’t wear your best clothes as the powder doesn’t always wash out!

Our first event of this school year will be our (rescheduled) Colour Run on September 12th. For those of you who bought tickets for the original date (thank you!), you don't need to do anything - your colour packs (if ordered) will be available to collect after school next Friday (11th) or at the event itself. For any families that are new to Lakeside Nursery & Primary Academy or who now find themselves available, we'd love for you to join us! For full details and to buy tickets please see our website:

As you are aware, our Colour Run is scheduled to take place this weekend.

Unfortunately, an amber warning of extreme heat has now been issued, and we feel that we have no option but to postpone the event, to minimise the risk to our children, parents and members of staff who were planning to attend.

We will provide more details and confirm new date soon.

Please note if you booked for entry only you must provide your own eye protection as this is a must to run - we will have sunglasses available on the day to purchase but there will be limited numbers.

Entry on the day is from 12pm to set up for your picnics and we hope to start the Colour Run from 1.15pm onwards in waves.
