It’s been quiet here — and not for the first time.
After several years of being very active, Thought Climber CIC has gone through periods of extended quiet. That hasn’t always been intentional, but it has been honest. This work has never been rushed, and it has always moved in step with real life.
Over the past months, Thought Climber CIC hasn’t disappeared — it’s been quietly doing what it was created to do. Through a collaboration with BAGS for Strife, the After Journal continues to reach people bereaved by su***de, included in their support bags at a time when words, decisions, and energy can feel scarce. Because of this, the journal is available — just not through the website at present, but via that charity.
Alongside this, I’ve been doing a great deal of reflecting.
Having worked through my own grief and significant life changes, I’ve turned increasingly to ultramarathon swimming — a space where I’m able to process, regulate, and, in many ways, continue to grow. That has meant stepping back from social media and outward-facing updates at times, even while the thinking, shaping, and meaning-making has continued quietly in the background.
What I’m sharing here are images from the journey of the After Journal itself — early hand-bound versions, original drawings, test pages, and the gradual evolution into the journal it is today. Looking back over these stages has reminded me that Thought Climber CIC and the After Journal has always been about moving carefully, thoughtfully, and with compassion — especially when working in the space of su***de bereavement.
If the quiet has caused inconvenience or uncertainty for anyone, I want to acknowledge that. There is still more work to be done in this space, and this pause has been part of understanding how to do that work well, sustainably, and with integrity.
This period of reflection is now feeding into the next chapter for Thought Climber, CIC with further
development planned for the spring. For now, thank you to those who continue to visit this work, check in, or quietly follow along.
