We are a reuse charity dedicated to helping businesses divert reusable waste away from landfill/energy recovery to help improve art and play opportunities for children, young people and adults. With our store based in Bristol we offer:

The Scrapstore
We have a large warehouse full of varied, colourful and abundant scrap materials fantastic for creative play opportunities at low costs. You can

All of our products are competitively priced, with all profits going straight back into Children’s Scrapstore. We also offer badge makers for hire. Please contact us for more details.

Dolls house restoration has been ongoing in the Artshop! Swipe to see the before and after 🏡🖌

Inspired by the scrap in the Warehouse and the world of miniatures, we think we've done a pretty good job. All ready for you to play around with when you come to visit, or be inspired to restore your own mini house!

We used lollipop sticks to make floorboards, painted the house with acrylic paint and distressed the beams with some soft pastels. Carpet, flooring and wallpapers courtesy of scrap!

Looking for creative activities for your children this summer in Bristol? 🎨
Come along to one of our Summer Holiday programme sessions at Children's Scrapstore and craft with us! ☀

Sessions start at £10 for 1 adult & child, then are +£6 for each additional adult or child. All income from the sessions goes straight back into our reuse and play charity, so you can have fun while still supporting the work we do!

We offer three different kinds of sessions:
- Under 5's: Creative child led sessions for under 5s. (Tuesdays are taste safe, better for little ones likely to put things in their mouths while Wednesdays have paint, scissors, glue & some small parts).
- Stay & Play: These sessions are best for ages 5+, but younger siblings are welcome and adults stay & play.
- FREE: Free stay & play drop-in sessions (so no need to book), for children and their adults. See more details for these sessions at: www.childrensscrapstore.co.uk/free-events

Today is International Day of Play! ☀
Play is what happens when children and young people take control and choose what they want to do. Play has many physical and emotional benefits and is vital for their all-round wellbeing and development. All children and young people have the right to play!

At Children's Scrapstore, we support play in a whole host of ways through our in-house Messy Play sessions, Outreach Workshops, Scrapstore PlayPod programme, Play Training and our Play Rangers, all involving child-led loose parts play. You can find out more about these different play services on our website 🔗 https://www.childrensscrapstore.co.uk/play-team

These photos are of our Children's Scrapstore Play Rangers , who facilitate outdoor play sessions across Bristol using resources sustainably sourced from our scrap. The Play Rangers are there to create a welcoming environment that supports young people to feel safe and find a sense of belonging in their community.

Through the power of loose parts play children and young people can feel confident to explore, be social, be active and get creative.

"A growing body of research shows that children have better physical, mental and emotional health, and even improved learning, when they play outdoors.” Unicef, The Importance of Outdoor Play (and how to support it).

Here's to muddy knees, cardboard creations, and the magic of simply being allowed to play!

Welcome to Warehouse Wednesday! 🐸 It’s Green Week this week, and an easy sustainable swap you can make is reusing existing materials before buying new ♻️

See what you have at home that can be repurposed, and pop down to our Scrapstore Warehouse to source all kinds of craft, art, fabric and construction materials that have been redirected from landfill.
All our scrap comes from either industry excess, offcuts or donations that would have otherwise ended up in the bin. We process them at our Scrapstore Warehouse so they’re ready for our Annual Members and Supporters Plus Card holders to reuse!

Anyone can take home our scrap with a form of membership, so have a look on our website at what option might work best for you 🔗

We are based in St Werburghs in Bristol, and are open Tuesday - Wednesday, 10am - 5pm (except Thursdays when we open at 11am). Pop down to visit us if curious, and feel free to ask us any scrap or reuse related questions you might have!

Have you ever wondered what happens in our Messy Play sessions?

Well now you can have a small sneak peek at the different child-led activities that happen here in our Playroom in St Werburghs!
Our staff provide a variety of different sensory activity options (as well as a few crafty ones) and clean up after, so you can focus on having fun mess making 🎨

On Tuesdays all activities will be taste safe and have no small parts.
On Wednesday we are returning to our regular Under 5's session where there is maximum mess!
These sessions are designed with under 5s in mind but older siblings are welcome.
Prices start at £10 for an adult & child ticket, with all money going straight back into our Bristol based charity.

Find out more and book you place through our website 🔗 https://www.childrensscrapstore.co.uk/events

In child-led play, children follow their own ideas and interests in their own way.
They choose the activities, the materials and how they want to use them!
The value in supporting your child lead play is children learn to make their own decisions and choices, which builds self-confidence, self-direction and self-esteem.
