Meet the team.... this is Delvin. He has earned his red jacket with pride and perfection. Even though he is a relatively new member he is a fantastic asset to the team and a very active member. This was Delvin yesterday on a joint with I asked him him why he wanted to join and he said this...
"Throughout a career in education I have always known that if I came to grief leading a group in the mountains, or in my own leisure time, I could rely on the local mountain rescue team to help. After retiring, and having the time, I felt that it was my turn now to volunteer and be on standby in the event of an accident to a walker or climber out in the Peak District. After many months of intensive training I passed the various assessments, and joined the operational team of Buxton Mountain Rescue, and have never looked back."
If you want to be part of a team please have a look at our website about how to join either operationally or in a support role. 👊🏻
