A big thanks to Lynda and new B2Z volunteer Emily for an excellent activity at the Community Gala Day providing pots of compost and local wild flower seed for window displays to attract bees for feeding and pollination.. Over 50 pots were taken away by happy children. An event inspired by Brampton's Bee Garden and made to happen by Lynda.

Lynda is organising a decorate your own bumble bee plant pot loaded with compost and flower seeds which have been collected from wild flowers in Brampton this year. A great children's activity.

Work has started to install the bund into Brampton Beck near the railway station which is part of the Natural Flood Defense Scheme for Brampton.
The bund will regulate the amount of water flowing into the beck in times of very heavy rainfall which is predicted to increase due to climate change.
The work should be completed by the end of June.
The work is part of a £250k Environment Agency grant to Brampton 2 Zero CIC which will help mitigate the adverse effects of climate change in Brampton by flooding.

It's a good start to 2026 with the arrival of 3 diggers at Brampton Fell Moss to begin the remedial work needed to regenerate the Moss. The work will involve creating a series of leaky dams across the thress ditches which will hold the watr back in times of severe rainfall and create a habitate ideal for moss regeration. We shall be organising a community information event at the Moss in the next month so keep an eye out of the invite. The site is not open to casual visits and must be booked through [email protected]
Many thanks to Eden Rivers Trust for their Project Management of the scheme and the Natural Flood Management Fund administered by the Environment agency for the funding.
