Plean’s voice Plean's Voice is a volunteer-led charity aimed at making Plean a better place to live, work and visit

Plean's Voice (Registered SCIO SC052272) is a charitable, non-profit body which delivers projects with Plean and the surrounding area. It is an independent, volunteer and community-led organisation which is part of a large network of Development Trusts in Scotland. In Plean, we aim to interact with and deliver projects that leave a social, environmental, enterprising and economic impact. We do not replicate statutory services, but seek to add value or enhance what already exists. At any given time we will be working on a range of projects which will be at various stages of development or delivery - from taking a small idea right through to a funded project. We are keen to be recognised as a group that can support and help other groups, organisations, charities, social enterprises, small businesses and individuals to realise their own ideas. We want to deliver projects that create a legacy, those that leave a long-term impact to all residents of Plean. We are keen to have conversations and build relationships with anyone who shares or common purpose to make Plean a vibrant and inclusive place to live, work and visit. The principle mission of the Trust is to support the economic and social regeneration of the former coal-mining town of Plean and surrounding areas in the Eastern Villages. The organisation’s purposes are:

- the advancement of citizenship or community development through the organising of community based activities that foster pride in the community of Plean and surrounding areas.

- the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended.
