💛We’re so excited to see Ellie Goldstein announced as one of the celebrity contestants for Strictly Come Dancing 2025! 🪩💛

🧡Representation matters – seeing members of the Down syndrome community on such a huge stage not only celebrates their talent, but also challenges outdated perceptions 🧡

💚At just 23, Ellie will be the first person with Down syndrome to compete in a full series of the show! (Who can forget on the Christmas Special?!) 💚

💛From modelling through for top brands like Gucci, Adidas, and Victoria’s Secret, to becoming the first model with Down syndrome to feature on the cover of British Vogue in 2023, Ellie continues to inspire us to push boundaries and champion inclusion💛

👏🏾 A huge thank you to Strictly Come Dancing for showing the world what our community can achieve when given the opportunity. We can’t wait to cheer Ellie on every step (and twirl) of the way! 👏🏼

Our members are completing a sponsored walk, run, ride, push to achieve a combined total of 21km. We will walk 1km or more each on 29th June at Whitehaven Harbour. Please support us, so we can continue to provide activities for our members

On Sunday, June 29th, the young members of WCDSSG will walk/ run/ ride a total of 21km as a relay. They will aim to complete at least 1km each, some will do more. All funds raised will go directly to provide activities for all our members.

Opportunities not limits.
Whitehaven Theatre group have given the opportunity and embraced Kate. Now she is living life in panto land. This support, understanding and encouragement is just amazing and has helped to develop Kate's confidence and independent skills.
Hercules panto in Whitehaven 3rd to 8th December. Go see the joy😁

When you were born everyone said 'I'm so sorry'. We weren't sorry, but we were scared.
When you were 3 they said 'why are you bothering with education.'
So we said 'because she can learn and she will learn' and you showed them that you could and you will continue to learn as long as we teach you
You've just been you and we've embraced everything that is you. So Katie pops just keep being you and we will keep supporting and encouraging.

My daughter has just started to attend this local theatre group. They fully embraced World Downs Syndrome day at their rehearsals last night. They have also fully embraced Kate joining the group which made it much easier for us to feel confident to let have a little more independence.
