📣 Tonight! From 6pm - 7.30pm @ An Talla Solais, join Norwegian textile craft designer, Ingrid Bjørnevog Haugnes and Scottish fashion and textile designer Owen Edward Snaith, to hear about their work and residency at ATS as part of ‘Interweaving Threads: Scotland & Norway Through Dress'. The year-long project focuses on the similarities and differences between traditional Norwegian and Scottish dress and textiles. The talk is Free, with donations welcome, no need to book, come along to An Talla Solais. It’s World Ocean Day! To celebrate, we thought it fitting to share some of the gorgeous sea creatures created by some of the children of Ullapool at last Friday’s free, drop-in drawing session. The drawings will come together to create a sea themed collaborative artwork, which will go on show during Art Week 2026, 4th - 13th sept. We will be running another children’s drop-in drawing workshop to create even more beautiful images - this Friday, from 2pm - 4pm.

Frances has her printing paper in hand and is getting inspiration from the current exhibitions.

Jayne Stokes who was an artist in residence in 2025 and one of the current artists exhibiting with us collected treasures on her walks around Ullapool and has incorporated the found objects into her artworks.

Nature inspires art so often and at the Outdoor and Nature Showcase Frances will be running a nature themed printing session from 11-2. Drop in and say hi!

What a joy to have some of the Ullapool Primary Classes in today to see our new exhibitions and take part in a workshop inspired by “Nestled” the current exhibition in the Green Room by Jayne Stokes .

The Children made tinie tiny scenes in matchboxes - landscapes , buildings , rock pools, mermaids, boats and deserts….
Such a great response to the work in the gallery - they were full of questions and ideas - a joy to have them visit .

Each exhibition we invite the school classes in to have a chance to see and engage with the exhibitions as part of our schools engagement programme - if you would like to support this project and help, please get in touch or you can donate on line on our just giving page on our website

We are excited to be welcoming two artists for a residency at ATS this week- textile craft designer, Ingrid Bjørnevog Haugnes joins us from Norway, and fashion and textile designer Owen Edward Snaith, from Scotland. In partnership with Cove Park, Ingrid and Owen, were selected to take part in 'Interweaving Threads: Scotland & Norway Through Dress'. The year-long project focuses on the similarities and differences between traditional Norwegian and Scottish dress and textiles. The two talented designer's will be giving a talk about the project and about their work at ATS next Thursday 11th June.
