Coigach Community Hall Since 1999, Coigach Community Hall in Achiltibuie has been at the heart of this vibrant coastal community.

Coigach Community Hall is one of Scotland’s most well appointed community-owned halls. This modern facility is a hive of activity and used on a daily basis by both the local community and visitors. Within this spacious facility there is a main hall which is used for a wide variety of events and sports, from weddings to yoga. This versatile space also boasts incredible acoustics making it a favourite venue for musicians to hold concerts. There is a dedicated doctors' surgery, an informal meeting room, a large airy lounge, public library, a kitchen with a view and exhibition area (in the summer months it is used by local artists as a gallery and in the winter it’s a snooker room). Wifi is also available: perhaps you would feel able to leave us £1 to help cover our costs. The hall is available to hire for events and has become a popular wedding venue for local couples as well as some who love the area and want to celebrate their special day here. The weather may have been pretty shabby yesterday for the annual Coigach Half-Marathon but way over 100 runners plus lots of friends arrived at the finish to a fantastic home-made spread laid on by the Hall and our famous Coigach bakers and soup-makers. Close on £1000 was made for Hall funds! Fantastic!
This goes to help the Hall pay the annual oil and electricity bills which now total near £10,000 alone - not counting the wage bill for our vital part-time staff of three and all the other many sundry Hall expenses throughout the year.
The success of this sort of event is vital and the input of volunteers is crucial and very much appreciated.
So big thanks to all who donated to this fantastic effort and the group of Hall committee and other volunteers who worked over two days setting up the main hall and operating the kitchen from10am to 5pm on the day to make it happen.
The main kitchen team were Alison Graham, Lesley Muir, Leslie Macdonald, Evelyn Scott, Alice Mackenzie, Ann Smart - and many others who helped out at times throughout the day.
Many thanks to our Hall cleaning ninja Emma Mackenzie who has been in this morning giving the kitchen laldy!
Finally, well done the Coigach Run organisers for putting on such a smoothly run Half-Marathon and giving the Hall an opportunity to raise money, too! A couple of photos before the hordes descended...
