Hi everyone! My name is Ellie and Iβm the newest recruit to Basingstoke T**s and Teats π
Having attended a meet up in early Summer, I was so inspired by the rest of the team that I decided to train to be a peer supporter with and have nearly finished π
After discharging us from hospital the day I gave birth, we were back into transitional care the day after because of jaundice (and my daughter was hypoglycaemic which I didnβt know until I requested our hospital notes! π₯Ί)
The staff at the neonatal unit were amazing, but nevertheless I didnβt really know what to do, they encouraged me to pump, but I didnβt really know why - surely my baby would wake for feeds and my milk would come in?! I completely didnβt take into account that a jaundiced baby would be a sleepy one.
Cut to today, weβre 8 months into our π π journey, and Iβm so proud! From the little lady who didnβt gain weight for a week (shout out to my amazing midwife who saw I was broken and referred me for a feeding assessment) and was put on a different feeding plan every appointment we went to (π«) my daughter is crawling and trying to stand (even while feeding) π€£
Taking inspiration from Katie, Grace and Daniella, I really hope our journey lasts into year 2 and beyond π itβs such a lovely time!
