Paul Douglas - Art and Fontainebleau Subcommittee Representative on REA's Committee has now returned to Richmond after a great individual visit to Fontainebleau, meeting members of Comité De Jumelage Arcif Evelyne Wenzel and Katia Boïtsova, and his kind, regular hostess Nadine. Below are pictures of his visits to a restaurant showing Katia's paintings and the Château. Also a day trip to Paris (to the Rodin Museum) with Katia. He is very grateful for all the hospitality he was shown by ARCIF. And the sunny spring weather!

REA is being represented by our artist FSC member Paul Douglas in Fontainebleau this week. He was at the Vernissage / private view of a joint art exhibition there on 16th April with artists from Aya Julia, Romania. Paul met members of Comité De Jumelage ARCIF including Katia Boïtsova and Nadina Scribba, see pictures. He is staying on in Fontainebleau to see old friends and enjoy the town and countryside.

In memory of our former Committee Member David King who passed away just after Easter, after a long illness. He was also active on the Fontainebleau Subcommittee until mid 2024. He was a fluent
French speaker & had long term links with France & its history. REA enjoyed his Zoom talks ftom 2020-22 on the French monarchy & their links with Orleans House in the C19. Our condolences go to his wife Miriam. He is sadly missed.

65th Reaffirmation Anniversary weekend Polo match (Richmond v Fontainebleau) at Ham Polo Club on Saturday June 7th. See notice / poster below & REA's Website:

The Polo Club, a Twinning partner, is off the Richmond Road in Ham, Richmond, on the 265 & 371 bus routes, or use carpark. £10 entry, kids under 15 go free.

Recent Mayor's Concert with REA presentation, at St Mary's Church, Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames. Held on Sunday 27th April (with cakes made by REA bakers), 5 younger musicians from England, France & Germany performed superb classical music pieces, mostly operatic, inside this historic C18th church in honour of our 65 years of Twinning with the towns Fontainebleau & Konstanz. Proceeds went to the Mayor's 2 charities.
