🏊‍♂️ ANDREW'S TAKING ON A CHALLENGE FOR TWGS! 💙

We have a very special fundraiser coming up at Together We Grow Support!

On Wednesday 16th September, Andrew will be taking to the water at Turriff Swimming Pool with a goal of completing 4 sponsored lengths to raise money for TWGS. 💪

And there's a brilliant story behind this one...

Andrew lives with Parkinson's, but in his younger days he was no stranger to the swimming pool — he actually swam as part of para swimming teams! 🏊‍♂️

Now he's getting back in the water and taking on another challenge, this time to raise money to help us enhance our new TWGS unit and create even more opportunities for the people we support.

We are incredibly excited to see Andrew take this on and we'll all be right behind him on the day! 🙌

Ian at Cycling Without Age Scotland - Turriff has done it again!!

Literally miles of smiles! Ian took our look out for another blast around the den yesterday afternoon. As you can see from the pictures everybody had a great time. They all loved it and are looking forward to the next venture out with him. Hayley and Neil were even lucky enough to get a lift back up to the high street.

🧡🖤 WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOME NEW FACES! 🖤🧡

There are some BIG things happening at Together We Grow Support and we think now is the perfect time to welcome some new people into our growing family!

🔑 We're getting the keys to our brand-new unit in Cuminestown!

This new space will allow us to massively expand the skills and development side of Together We Grow, giving the people we support the chance to get stuck into practical, meaningful projects including:

♻️ Can recycling
🪑 Furniture upcycling
🐶 Bagging dog biscuits
🐦 Bagging bird feed
🪚 Woodworking & practical skills
🌱 Our ongoing garden project at Delgaty Castle

And that's only one part of what we do!

Our Turriff centre focuses on building confidence, friendships and independence through social activities, crafting, cooking, games and developing everyday assisted-living and life skills.

The idea is simple — not everyone enjoys the same things.

Some people love being creative. Some want to get their hands dirty. Some want to learn practical skills. Some simply want somewhere they feel comfortable, make friends and become more confident.

We want to give people the opportunity to find what works for them. 🧡

🚐 And don't let distance put you off!

Our transport network stretches as far south as Inverurie and as far north as Fraserburgh, helping make Together We Grow accessible to people across a large part of Aberdeenshire.

SPORTS DAY!!

Last week saw TWGS first sports day event. Cairnbulg hit it off in style with top contestants coming from far and wide to participate (Peterhead and Fraserburgh 🤣)

As you can see it was a competitive day with no room for error as there were big medals to be won.

I think you can see from the pictures that everyone one really enjoyed themselves and we look forward to hosting one in Turriff the end of the summer. 💚
