Crossways Community

Crossways Community We are a Christian charity in Tunbridge Wells providing residential care for adults with acute mental health issues.

We run The Kitchen Table cafe at 19 Camden Road - and a gardening project, Flourish. We also provide mental health awareness training.

Today we put up our prices ever so slightly, just on some items - BUT we still believe that we're the best value in town! And money can't buy our warm welcome!

We appreciate our volunteers at Crossways Community! At the end of this Volunteers week, we now celebrate our volunteers at the The Kitchen Table, our café in Camden Road, pictured here enjoying an evening out together.
Pam, who is a long-term Thursday team member, says, "I love being a volunteer at the Kitchen Table. Very nice managers, Rosie and Lorraine. Customers when I work are nice to talk to. It inspires me to enjoy my life."

Today in Volunteers Week we celebrate those who help out at Flourish, our allotment. With Kate in our first picture are volunteers Liz and Amanda, and the second picture has Liz, Louise and Mary with Keith and Kate, plus visiting PSCO.

Amanda says: “I chose to volunteer at Flourish as I enjoy communal gardening and loved the idea of combining it with helping people in my local community with their mental health, something that I feel society has not generally placed enough value on.
Attending the open day and meeting Keith and Kate convinced me that this was the right decision- their warmth, positivity and knowledge are what make Flourish the special place it is and ensure that everyone feels welcome whoever they are and whatever is going on in their lives.”

And Lizzie also appreciates how special Flourish is: “I volunteer at Flourish because instead of being cared for, I can help other people who need support. It is the highlight of my week!
The people are incredible, particularly Keith and Kate and being part of the community there is very uplifting. A tranquil space for friendship, support and laughter.”

This week it is Mental Health Awareness Week! The theme is TAKE ACTION - even small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless. And while our individual actions matter, when we come together we are even more powerful.
